Man, now this was a glorious day for both being outside, and finding a geocache in the meantime. And this is actually one of the very few times when I went to the park for the sake of actually going to the park instead of geocaching being my primary reason .

This was one of the first weekend in months (I'm not exaggerating) in which at least one of the days wasn't "booked" by some event or occurrence soaking up my much needed time off work. And I planned to make it gloriously relaxing, no housework, no chores... just get some very much needed R&R. To sum it up... day at the park , and we booked it over at just after noon. I took my GPS with me without actually knowing if there'd even BE any geocaches at the park that I haven't found yet. It turns out this cache is the only one that's popped up since my last clearing of the park.

But, first things first... relaxing! Setting up my hammock, I quickly dropped into it and curled up with a book for a while. Much snacking, chatting, reading, and other miscellaneous activities that involve basically no movement and can be done from a hammock later, I was getting a bit restless, and decided it was about time to tackle that geocache. To my great surprise, I was able to actually convince my wife to lie down in the hammock to give it a test while I was away. She's always been nervous as hell about them and never trusted them for some reason. I assured her that it was holding me and my bouncing around to re-position myself fine, it's weight limit was way higher than anything either of us could stress it with, the ends were hooked to rope double-looped around the trees... but still, nervous.

Nonetheless, after talking her into there, I set off on my hunt! A scant 5 minute walk later (after taking some pics of geese with little yellow goslings) and I was at ground zero. Now, having not read the cache description or hint or anything, I was pretty much flying blind. However, there appeared to be very few places the cache could actually be hiding. I started out searching in and around what is referenced in the hint, and obviously found nothing there. Looking high and low, I didn't spot anything offhand, so I spread my search out a little bit, pretty much due to the distinct lack of possible hiding places.

Although I'm pretty sure I'm really lucky in that respect. Judging by the plantlife starting to poke out of the ground, I get the feeling this area is going to make for a LOT more hiding spots in a month or so.

Continuing my hunt, I ended up somehow 20 meters from ground zero, still finding nothing. I kinda spiralled my way back towards ground zero, and once again ended up at that original looking spot, and was getting rather stumped by this point. I turned around to continue the hunt, when *BAM*, I find myself about 6 inches away from the cache container. I honestly haven't the slightest clue how I could have POSSIBLY missed that during my initial hunt of ground zero. I swear, someone must have taken it before I showed up, snuck in when I was about 20 meters away without me noticing, replaced it, and stuck away again. It's the ONLY possible option.

But... that sudden find behind me, I quickly had the cache container open, and containing a signature micromail ball. It looks like the first page of the logbook has torn in half, and the torn off portion was crumpled into a ball at the bottom of the container. I didn't want it to end up being stuck there if it got damp, so I flattened it out and rolled it into the rest of the log after I was done signing it. So the next finder, just be careful that part doesn't blow away. I unfortunately had no clear tape with me to fix it on the spot.

The cache replaced, I quickly headed back to my wife, and for several more hours of relaxing the day away.

All in all, an awesome day with a fun geocache in the middle to spice it up a bit .
