NOT Winter Friendly, thought it might still be findable. Approach from the South for easier access.. Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Second cache of the day! This was one of the ones I was vaguely contemplating biking to a few days ago, but sunset cut me off before I could go after it. I was planning to tackle a few more caches in my Dani-Radius today, and was finding things to the Northeast of me.

So my wife and I headed over here after some circling around in a St. Boniface residential neigbourhood, trying to find an exit to Lagimodiere.

Thank god for the GPS' 'follow road' option .

We quickly found the parking lot close to the cache. Although, I noticed something a bit... peculiar... when I got to the parking lot. I didn't actually know what it was until after I had left the car. Sweet mother of Mary, how in the world can anyone play a baseball game... or anything for that matter... on a field this close to the Maple Leaf plant? At least I assume it was the Maple Leaf plant... I'm not sure what other meat manufacturing plants are nearby. In either case... the only thing I could smell when getting out of the car was that of a meat-processing plant... however you want to define that. I'm guessing that the wind must have just been unluckly going in my direction from it's source, because otherwise I can't possibly see how the city would justify keep a baseball diamond upkept and running with that kind of smell there. I can't imagine wanting to play a game for several hours with that, anyway.

Unless of course people get used to it or something. Towards the end of my venture, I didn't notice it as much any more. But anyway, after getting out of the car, I headed beside the bushes, taking the "easy" (or so I thought) route to get closer to the coordinates. Yyyyyeah, turns out that stream that was beside me just kinda... keeps going. I was hoping that it would pass through a culvert or something under the train tracks, but no such luck. It cut me off, turning to follow the tracks. Debating whether or not to turn around and plow through the bushes, I decided to look around a bit to see if I could find a shallower section that wouldn't give me a shoer. Thankfully, right by the bend at the tracks I was able to walk over the dead bullrushes and not sink in deep enough to go over my shoes. It was a little close at times, but I managed to find enough footing to stay dry .

After that, it was a fairly easy cache find . Poking around inside, I didn't see any other TB's to trade out... which is strange, because apparently some decently large collection of caribiners is supposed to be in here. I'm guessing either someone who logged it since my last Pocket Query (on Friday) left it, or one of them removed it, but haven't logged that yet. In either case, I dropped in a TB that migrated over to here from the Canadian Multi-Cache. Figured it'll get a bit more traffic at this one .

But after a quick find and replacement of the cache, I had to now find my way back to the car. Not feeling like walking back to the tracks to find my shallow part, I instead opted to head through the bushes, since I also didn't want to be randomly walking through that apartment's (or whatever it is) yard.

Yeah... great idea .

There appeared to be a bit of a geotrail through some of the bushes, but it was kinda broken up at best, and I got a decent number of burrs on me in the process. Especially right at the end, where it's densest. They eventually found their way onto the ground after getting to the car . Seriously... as far as seed-spreading goes, that plant came up with one of the best evolutionary traits.

But thanks for the cache. One less in my Dani-Radius .
