Last cache of the day! I had headed out by bike right after work today in hopes of both relieving the workday's frustration with caching (of which it accomplished quite nicely ), as well as getting some possibly-last-biking-of-the-year in. The warm days are starting to get less and less common, so when a beautiful afternoon/evening like this one comes along, it won't take much arm-twisting to get me on my bike for it .

Despite basically passing very close to this cache (on the diagonally-opposite side of the intersection to be precise), I decided to leave it until last. From when I arrived in the area to begin with today (about 6:40 or so), I would have about an hour before the sun started dipping too low to be either warm enough or bright enough for geocaching. Given I was going to try tackling a set of two micros and this nano, I figured I'd leave the one I'm most-likely to find for last. Having found multiple of the ICU series in the past, it just made sense to leave this for the trip home .

Two geocaches and about 50 minutes after first getting to this intersection, I quickly found the cache container (after once again spurning the fact that I'm never on the same side of the street as it ), but quickly came to a horrible realization.

My balls were gone !

My always-by-my-side sack of chainmail balls was neither in my geocaching bag nor in my pockets. After a minute of panicked searching, I realized that I must have left it at the last geocaching I found... "What's Your Game". That was however just over a kilometer away! I actually came to a conclusion that should I be unable to locate the bag, I would log this cache as a DNF for today until I could return with a nanomail ball. Hence, I put the 'located, but not "found"' cache back and got on my bike.

Fearing it to be lost, I bolted back to 'What's Your Game' as fast as my legs would pedal my bike. Quickly finding my balls (*whew* , I made my trip back to the intersection a bit more leisurely.

And thinking about it moreso just now... that's technically my third visit to that intersection within the hour .

Once again retrieving the cache from where I replaced it, I this time opened it up and triumphantly signed it . One nanomail ball later, and the cache was back from whence it came.

Probably one of the very, very few times a geocacher would have willingly logged a DNF even after locating the cache. Thankfully, that was not needed to begin with.

Thanks again for the cache series. I realize it not be a favourite of some, but I dunno... it appeals to me somehow. I'm typically not one for cache-n'-dash style, but somehow the occasional 'simple' one is appealing. Sorta the same way I don't mind lamp-post caches, yet others despise them with a passion.

But I ramble. Still love the series, and the number of these dwelling inside my Dani-Radius is starting to shrink at an alarming rate .

Actually... *checks*... there seems to only be 2 more remaining within 5km's of me. Man... I'm mowing through this series pretty quick... I should slow down or something to leave some for later .
