AHA! This cache has been plaguing me ever since it was placed, smugly sitting right near the top of my 'closest caches to home', MOCKING me from within the Dani-Radius . But today... today I decided to strike it from said Radius!

Figuratively... I didn't actually pick it up and toss it somewhere over 5km from my home .

So yes... after a long, annoying, long, brutal, long, long, frustrating day of work, I did what gets rid of frustration the best... exercise! More specifically, biking. Minutes after getting home, I grabbed my bike and geocaching bag and headed out the door. Seconds later, I was on my way to the coordinates. Another reason I left so quickly is because I got home around 6:15pm, and wanted to try to reach the caches before the sun dipped too low for me to do any good hunting.

To top it off, I was planning on tackling three micro caches. Or more accurately, two micros, and a nano. There comes a time in every geocacher's life when they must ask themselves something. Three micros in an hour. Well... do I feel lucky? I figured that I just might be able to pull it off. Having had my spirits raised towards micros lately with the ICU series and several others I've found recently, I wanted to give it my best.

Also, all three were vaguely close to eachother, and all sitting right next to eachother in my 'closest to home' list .

Normally, I've always been a bit nervous about this area of town. I don't know why, though... since biking through there seemed so pleasant today.

Well, except that on Drake Boulevard, there was a slew of about 6 police cruisers, someone being placed in the back of a SWAT-van looking... van (didn't say SWAT, but was large, metal, and windowless), and several onlookers across the street watching. Didn't exactly fill me with confidence .

But after going past that area, I was treated to a very quiet housing development. Thankfully, there were no bystanders either in the windows that I could spot, or driving/biking/walking/etc by. All in all, quiet as a church. I started hunting for the cache in the wrong place, but that went quickly, and I only killed about 30 seconds. The next place I looked turned out to be correct! Thankfully, I've seen this style of hide in the past once, and thought to 'test' what I saw. VERY well hidden though... had me completely fooled until the poke-test revealed it to me .

Not wanting to hang around right beside the coordinates for too long to avoid looking conspicuous, I biked off to the corner of the street, hiding myself from the nearest house with the large bush. At that point, I signed up the logbook and slithered one of my micromail balls into there. Well, not so much into there as... well... there. If the cache is 'moved' too quickly, it may fall off anyway.

Going back to the hiding spot, I quickly replaced the cache and turned around. The first cache of the afternoon was found, signed, and replaced in probably under 3 minutes. Probably for the best, since I was to attempt two more micro caches, and after the bike ride probably only had about 40 minutes of 'good' sunlight left.

Thanks for the cache relatively close to home. I haven't biked here before, but coincidentally the wedding photographer we used was about a block or so away! So I at least was vaguely familiar with the area. Or at the bare minimum, recognized the strip-mall on Elizabeth .
