This area was supposed to end up as affordable housing and geothermal heating. Neither of these will happen in this area. I used to know the owner of the land and we used to take the kids and family on drives to this land to see all the deer. There are a few trade items in the cache as well as a First to Find certificate and a prize for FTF. Cache contains logbook and a couple of pencils. Congrats Pa Bottle on FTF.

Ahh... didn't think THIS fella was gonna survive being unfound by me for too long, now that I've set my sights on it. ESPECIALLY after I noticed that it was placed by BBrown94. I was completely unaware that you had placed one! Man, I've gotta hit up my friend list more often... shows how many caches people have placed and such.

But I digress. Geocache placed by BBrown94 must be located, and I had planned specifically to do it after work today. Especially because with my scouting of the area last time, I wasn't sure how long this cache would survive here. Construction crews seem to enjoy plowing down awesome foresty areas .

But yes... all I had with me at work was my GPS and a single chainmail ball. I was travelling light today, since I had to make various stops before work. However, this should be enough. I snagged a pen from work though, just to be safe. I was caught at a different cache today penless, and wasn't about to be caught again. With my luck the pencil would be broken or pen would be dead currently in this cache .

So after work, I headed over to the coordinates. With a distinct lack of work vehicles or people, I was free to attempt the cache .

Or so I thought.

After parking the car about as close as I could to the cache, wouldn't you know it... some other car pulled up that road into the construction area. Another cacher, perhaps? I waited in the car to see what they would do. Turns out, they just circled around and left again. Ok... whatever. As I was about to get out of the car, ANOTHER vehichle decided to pull onto the construction road. CRIPES! I swear I'm cursed. I could be in the middle of nowhere, and the second I want to do anything that would best be done alone, someone comes along and populations up the area. And then another vehicle came. And then another. Oh COME ON! What is this?

And so I waited some more. The middle car turned around and left, the first car drove off further into the construction area by the half-built houses, and the last one just... stopped in the middle of the road for a while. I'm logging this a day late due to lack of time, and given there's no other logs (yet), I'm thinking they weren't geocachers waiting for ME, but rather just fate deciding to throw me a few obstacles.

With car 2 gone, car 1 out of view (for the most part), and someone getting out of car 3 to look in their trunk, I booked it from my car and headed into the bushes. Probably good that noone came to investigate, because I kinda left my car unlocked and unarmed .

A short walk later (with a few branches deciding to repeatedly try to trip me, if that's even possible) and I found myself at the coordinates. I wish I woulda gone after this one in mid-summer. I get the feeling it would be very green and nice in there. However, due to construction, now's the time for me to move. A quick find of the cache container, and I cracked it open. What's annoying is that I had mentally noted that there was supposed to be a travelbug AND a geocoin in here, and had planned to move at least one of them along. However, at the time I was at the geocache, I completely forgot about that. Not wanting to leave my car unlocked for long, I didn't really think that hard or look that much inside. I signed the logbook and tossed the chainmail ball in after it. And then booked it back to the car again. It looks like car 1 and car 3 had both taken off a this point, and I was once again left in silence.

Woulda been nice if they did that about 5 minutes earlier though .

Attempted to go after this one after tackling "The Glacier". Since I still had about a half-hour to kill, I walked over thisaway to see if I could get two caches before work.

Unfortunately, it looks like at this time of day, the construction workers were out in droves. I contemplating just... walking in on the new (yet dry) sidewalk and just... pretending like I knew where I was going. However, given the massive line of parked cars that appeared to be near the coordinates (all workers there, safe assumption), I thought I should probably give it a pass than draw more attention to myself than necessary. Last thing I'd need is to be late for work either because one of 'em called the police because I was poking around suspiciously, or get questioned by the workers in general as to what I'm doing there. Hence, I think the closest I got to the cache today was about 250 meters away.

I'll be tackling this fella sometime not during work hours. Should be clear as a bell then.
