I was actually in a pretty rough debate as to whether to do this cache or not. In fact, I had come nearby, and even stopped my car about 80 meters from the cache on Sunday, but had decided not to go after it on principle at that time.

This was entirely due to the building immediately to the South of the cache, and my great, GREAT disdain for it. To make a long story short, I worked for them for quite a while, was treated incredibly poorly at one point, such that I quit. However, they KNEW they were being jerks, so to avoid making more waves than necessary, they gave me an extra 2-week vacation to 'buy out' my last 2 weeks after I gave my notice, so I wouldn't need to come back.

Sorry... old wounds that heal slowly.

In either case, today I happened to be passing nearby again, and had come to the conclusion that I was being ridiculously silly on Sunday. The cache has NOTHING to do with the aformentioned building, or what may have transpired in it. Ok, well the name of the cache could be construed as being related to the building, but at the bare minimum, not the incident in specific. And so I came after the cache.

I was a bit worried, since OHMIC had commented in his log about the bus-stop bystanders. Thankfully, there was only a single one there when I showed up at about 7:00pm. Naturally, I acted as though waiting for the bus as well, and kinda meandered around, giving everything a good 'look'. The coordinates seemed to draw me to a peculiar spot, and figured the coordinates had to be off.

I have to learn sometime that those tend to be famous last words .

Of course, I zoned in on where I thought the cache would be. So I spent about 10 minutes mulling around in the completely wrong place, after which the bus came and removed the only person waiting. Ahh, alone at last. After another minute, I abandoned my initial hunch, and checked my second hunch. Nnnnope, not there either. And THEN, another hunch caught my eye. The location had actually caught my eye earlier, but I had abandoned it for what I zoned in on for 10 minutes .

So here's a hint to everyone finding this cache:

Look for the obvious, but not the other obvious, or the other, OTHER obvious. Or the other thing either, that's way out. You want to keep your attention on the most obviously less obvious obvious.

Follow those instructions, and you'll save a lot of time, unlike myself .

Anyway... after my attention was drawn to the more obviously less obvious obvious, I spotted something that seemed... out of place. That in itself had me investigate closer, at which point I discovered what I soon confirmed had to be the cache. SUCCESS! Very nice hide! I definitely gone with my first pseudo-hunch, instead of being drawn to the actual one... which was wrong anyway.

Crouching down, once again "waiting for the next bus", I opened the cache and retrieved the logbook. One signature ball, signature... signature, and date later (although I think I accidentally wrote down the 22nd... my bad), and I closed it up and got the cache back into place.

Thanks for getting me to face the old ghosts... sitting around there, half-expecting the old supervisor to have recognized me and come out (some of the windows from my old department face the bus stop), but having nothing happen was a load off my mind. Now maybe I'll either bike, walk, or drive nearby without actively avoiding the area as a whole .
