Vegan stuffs


So, I've decided to finally make a strip about going vegan. I had technically for all intents and purposes gone vegan back in 2015, when I put myself into survival mode, and lived on nothing but bean soup (I mentioned it in the vegan pemmican area). So sometime after that, I came to the following conclusion points:

• I should probably go vegan, if for no other reason than for the animals.
• Now... how can my being vegan be used to help convince others to do so as well (again, for the animals)
• If a person is set on eating meat, they don't care about the animals. They don't care about how they're treated, the waste produced, the pollution created, none of that. They want dead animal, for whatever reason, I assume familiarity.
• Most people, in all actual reality, wouldn't care less about what it's made from. They want texture and flavour, and if that is met, then anything else is meaningless.

So, what do people care about? They don't care about pain caused to the animal, about pollution, about waste, what do they care about. Money. Land. They care about money, and they care about land, because land = money. And presently, land is being used to make meat$.

Now, how can we turn that around. Of course, all, literally *ALL* simple facts point to vegan being better for... literally all reasons. We just need to grab the one that = land. And that of course, is that less land would be required to grow plants for humans, than is required to grow animals and plants for animals for humans (google it, I'm not going to bother finding a link for you, it took me like...literally 30 seconds of searching online, and to be pretentious, if you wouldn't believe a link that I posted anyway, you wouldn't google it for yourself either, so I won't waste my time).

So anyways... if farmers converted their land currently used for animals and plants for animals (which are typically low quality and cheap, such as silage), and instead used that land for plants for humans, you would have more crops, which would sell for more than silage, and it would be better for... all the reasons. Would the plants sell for more than the animals? I'm not sure, I imagine that depends on... a ton of factors. Market prices, health of the animal/plant, density... though by quickly searching online for "would farmers make more by going vegan", every single result indicates "depends on crop choice, soil, etc, but you would use FAR less land than growing animals". So no results say yes, no results say no, but you'd have far more land to farm.

And think about it, that extra land wouldn't necessarily need to be used for food. Thinking about it from a money perspective (the thing that people care about), you could sell that land for houses, for insanely profitable industry and commerce. I think, going ludicrous, if you put commercial strips and casinos in that freed up land, I have to imagine that you would make more money.

So, go vegan. Go vegan for the animals, go vegan for the land, in the current age, virtually all flavours and textures have been duplicated into a vegan variety. That vegan steak in the pemmican page? That's friggin' amazing. There's vegan eggs that people rave about, the plant based Burger King Whopper is, as far as I can tell, about as identical as it can be to the meat based one. I've made amazing vegan pemmican, oat milk is just in all ways superior to regular milk, just... try it. Remember, by all biological and mental logic, your brain enjoys the taste and the texture of the food you consume. It doesn't care about the animals behind it, it's "yum yum yum this is tasty". That can be equalled with plant based. And presently, it can be expensive (or not, bean soup yo!), but the more people that adopt a vegan lifestyle, the cheaper it will get, because more producers will want to profit from the added vegan demand.

And to be transparent, I am not 100% vegan yet. I am still considering myself poor, and I am still in the aformentioned survival mode. I will absolutely take vegan when it is offered or available. If that boolean = false, then I will choose vegetarian. If that boolean = false, then as the great Canadian Joe Aiello always said, people gotta eat. I require 2000 kcal inside of me per day, but please don't make me eat meat if it's at all possible. And once I leave survival mode, this can ramp up further, as right now the number on the shelf in the store is the most important factor (though when eating out, that being more possible having passed two of the three leaving-survival-mode points, I always choose vegan). Though on that note, I'm vegetarian at home, because cheese is cheaper than vegan cheese, and Abby loves her cheese sandwiches, and I eat them too because I require 2000kcal. Once I leave survival mode (I'll be making an RZ comic about it, don't worry), I'll be able to get vegan cheese. I already get rice noodles instead of egg, and vegan beans and sausage :D. And yah, I could have left this paragraph out to sound better or whatever, but for transparency. I'm not 100%, but I AM working towards 100%. And I feel good about that.

So go vegan all! As much as you can, when you can. Some restaurants are still hit or miss, but yah that Plant-Based Whopper/Impossible Whopper is amazing. I've tried pizza with vegan pepperoni, and it was just straight-up better than the regular, less greasy, same flavour (slightly different texture to be transparent, but give it time/progress). The more you eat vegan, the better it'll get, the healthier you'll feel (oohh, big note on that), and the longer you'll live. And oat milk is just straight better. And coconut milk is actually quite refreshing!
