Found it 3/28/2009 by Kabuthunk
Final cache of the day! Three found, one DNF. Myself and team Blagden were out caching today. Seeing as we had cleared the town of Carman of all caches during previous visits to my sister's place, we decided to head up to Elm Creek to check out the caches up here. Turns out there's a helluva lot, considering the size of the town. I can't imagine this being all that much larger than Landmark, but Landmark's only got one actual cache inside of it (which I think is currently disabled, to boot). So definitely nice to see this town's more into the technology than poor backwater Landmark (I grew up there... I'm allowed to make fun of it ToungeOut).

But anyway, after having located 'The Elm Creek' a bit to the North, we stopped by this cache (which we had accidentally passed on the way up from Carman) on the way home. At first, we parked on the side-road to the North of the cemetary... but we quickly realized that we wouldn't be able to easily walk through the ditch (especially me in shoes), and would have to walk along the main highway anyway for the most part. We decided to hop back in the car and park a bit closer... moreso near the center of the cemetary, on the curb of the highway.

Thus, finally having found a place to stop, the four of us (the three-man Blagden crew and a Kabuthunk) hopped out and worked our way towards the coordinates. Thankfully my brother-in-law went ahead of me, allowing me to use his footsteps to avoid getting a ton of snow in my shoes. Seriously... wearing shoes for geocaching at this time of year... I definitely wasn't thinking when I pulled that one ToungeOut. My nieces were getting cold, but the cache was drawing nearer. We soon reached a giant snowdrift at the end of the cemetary, whereby I was stuck on the sidelines. Thankfully, my brother-in-law was able to quickly locate the cache container and head back to dry land (comparatively) where I was. While the Blagden trio searched the cache for tradeables, I signed the logbook for both of us and inserted a chainmail ball. With the trading done (Blagden should be logging things online eventually), they trudged back into the snowdrift to replace the cache container.

With the last find of the day complete, we headed back to the car. At this point, my brother-in-law noticed my attempts to keep my feet dry, and was shuffling his feet along the ground to give me a path to follow. THANKS MAN BigSmile! Next time I'll remember to get the proper footwear... if not even just my instant-winter-boots ToungeOut.

So thanks for the cache hide. I had hit a bit of a dry spell with caching for the past few weeks, so it was definitely fun to get back into the fray Smile. I think I've found several other 'Sunday Kruz' caches in the past... something about a cache in Oak Bluff rings a bell... so hopefully I'll run across more. Didn't realize there were a lot of them. At least nine, apparently ToungeOut.

As an added bonus though... WOOH! YAY FOR FIND 486! Nothing like having a cache find count of the same designation as one of my very first computers BigSmile.

Yes... I'm well aware of how insanely nerdy that sounds... but I'm not exactly what society would consider cool ToungeOut. I make chainmail, that should say enough as is ToungeOut.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
