Area does get flooded, but stages will still be reachable even after the bridge gets flooded. Stage 1 you are looking for the coordinates to stage 2. Stage 2 is a small screw top container with items for the original Between the River Cache.

I thought that the name of this cache sounded familiar. As it turns out, I was right. I'm even more surprised however that there aren't more caches located in this park. It's such a nice, expansive park with innumerable potential hiding spots. Perhaps the flooding tends to scare cache-placers away from it. Or maybe it's just not a well known park, since its kinda hidden off either across a small foot-bridge, or behind a small residential neighbourhood. In either case, I'm quite glad that I know of the parks existence, since I will bike through the area every so often.

And aside from this cache being in a nice park, this is also currently the closest cache to my home coordinates! Well, once a cache finds its way into that position, I will eventually be tackling it to let another cache have the honour of being in that spot . Perhaps it's the fact that its a multi had slowed down my going after this one for a long time, or it could be that I've been somewhat lazy lately... but in either case, today was this cache's day to be located. Since I had booked today off from work to get an extra long weekend (but weather forecasts stopped me from heading out camping during it), I decided to tackle some geocaches today. Sending my vehicle all over town to resolve DNF's, I eventually found myself near home, and figured I would finally take a crack at this one.

After parking in the same place as with the last 'Between The River' cache, I headed over towards ground zero. When I arrived near stage 1, I circled out of the trees only to discover a dense wall of bushes hindering entrance from that side. A quick correction, and it wasn't long before I located stage 1 . Quickly inputting the coordinates into my GPS, it pointed me at a spot about 500 someodd meters South. Huh... peculiar. Well... maybe there's trails over THERE, too. Looking at the GPS, I couldn't seem to discern if there would be a way to hike over to the second stage without a river getting in the way. Thus, I opted to return to the car and drive nearer.

A quick drive later, and... what the hell?!? It looks like stage 2 is... in the middle of a golf course? That can't be right. Parking the car and walking along the road, I determined that it was highly unlikely that the cache was accessible from this side. Perhaps in some area on the other side of the golf course? Driving down the residential road, there was no further turnoff to the right, and it circled me back to the main road. Huh... I'm fairly certain I got the coordinates correct from stage 1. But... wait a minute. There was one small... thing that caught my attention on that sheet of paper at stage 1. I had brushed it off at the time, but since it looks like this was a dead end, I figured I'd return to stage 1 to verify.

One more trip to the old parking spot, and I quickly made my way to stage 1 again. And wait... yep... looks like I was right. I guess if I had looked at the cache hint that would have saved some time, but eh... it was an adventure, and I'm glad I could figure it out on my own . Correcting my mistake with the coordinates on the GPS, I re-corrected my GPS (you'll know what I mean when you solve this mini-problem) to avoid the opposite mistake happening with future caches. 70 meters away this time! That seems a lot more likely... and it's even in the area! A quick walk later, and once I reached the TRUE ground zero, the presence of a cache container confirmed that I was indeed correct this time .

Thanks for giving the cache a bit of a twist at the end there! Gotta say, it fooled me. Not for a long time... but you still got me. In the end though, perseverance pays off. Which is probably good, because I REALLY didn't want to get a country club membership .
