I decided that the 8 caches I found yesterday weren't quite enough for this weekend, so I set upon going geocaching for a little while today too. Only this time, I think it's time to take the bike out for it's first second spin of the year (I had taken it for a ride back in early March). It's finally a nice day out ON THE WEEKEND. Any other nice days this year seem to always been on weekdays, when I get to look at said nice weather from my work's office windows .

But today. Ahh, today... t'was a beautiful day out. According to the weather network, it was about +15, only a hint of a breeze, and nice and sunny. If that doesn't sound like biking weather, I don't know what does . So with that thought in mind, I pumped up the old bike tires, and headed out.

After quickly getting away from traffic, I found myself near the coordinates. There didn't seem to be anyone else nearby thankfully, so I didn't have any bystanders to deal with. Well... not lingering bystanders, anyway. When I first arrived near ground zero, I couple with a child stroller was slowly meandering their way down the paved trail. I decided to take that opportunity to just kick back and relax. I sat down (well... half-sat on my bike frame to avoid getting my butt damp) and drank some water while they slowly worked their way past. Shortly following that another biker zipped by... but he was going at a good pace, so that was all of a few seconds. The coast clear, I made my way to ground zero.

I had scoped out the area from about 10 feet away while waiting for the child-stroller to leave. It took me all of about 3 seconds to find the cache, since I figured it'd be in the first place I ended up looking. Which is probably good, since I wasn't entirely sure which side of the fence I should be on. Actually... IS the North side of the fence the park, and the South side just... nothing in particular? I was looking around, and that area seems to be fenced in, and I couldn't spot any entrances offhand. Then again, I didn't look that hard .

With the cache in hand, I went back to my bike and sat down to sign the logbook. Ahh, a nice, crisp logbook for a micro... far better than the damp, weakened-by-tons-of-rolling-and-unrolling logbooks that I often find in this type of cache. Hopefully this one will last a while... this area was definitely in need of a geocache .

The cache found, I made my way back to the hiding spot and replaced it as found. Mission accomplished!

Thanks for giving me an excuse to pull the bike out again. I was debating whether or not to just walk here (it's about 450 meters from my home 'as the bird flies'), but I'm glad I pulled out the bike. I got to go a lot further, and find a few more geocaches in the process .
