The coord may also be: N 49� 49.549 W 097� 08.266 (If you want to use the "average" We originally hid this type of cache for a private party, but it went over so well that we opened it up for everyone. Bring your own crayon. The cache isn't really any regular size, so you've got to be a little creative.

I've got to admit, this was quiet the perplexing cache. Of all the caches today (not counting the DNFs of course), I think I liked this cache container the most . It took me quite a while to find it however. I was spending several hours this afternoon biking down the Bishop Grandin Greenway from St. Anne's road, and basically was picking up the geocaches along the way. Several geocaches later, and this one was next on the chopping block. I cut through the parking lot for the cemetery and headed for the park. I've always kinda wondered why there was no cache in this park... nice to see that someone's decided to fill the gap, so to speak .

In either case, rolling my bike on up into the park, I instantly began setting about hunting for the geocache. I first spent a good 15 minutes trying various "typical" hiding spots, to no avail. Although, once I had moved from one 'typical' type of hide to another, which happened to involve the sign for the park itself (my GPS kept bouncing the coordinates around), some punk kids in a car drove by, rolled down the window, and called out "Nice pole, isn't it", as I was searching the sign's post.

Naturally, I replied "Yes, yes it is a nice pole". In retrospect, there were multiple better comebacks I could have come up with that I thought up later, such as implying said pole was sexy, or perhaps humping the pole or something as well. Oh well... hindsight 20/20 and such. I'm sure I still weirded them out one way or the other .

That pair of idiots gone, the area was once again vacant (which seems to have happened a fair bit today... luck was definitely on my side... although that luck would run out later I soon learned), I continued my search. The GPS seemed to be settling down, so I was at least being steered in the right general direction. As one can expect, the coordinates kept pointing me to one particular place. But I thought I'd searched it. Thoroughly! Poking around again in all the various crevasses again, I still came up with nothing. Huh... starting to run out of places to search here.

But then I tried something. Let's try removing the biking gloves so that I have a bit more tactile sensation, and see what I can come up with. Almost instantly... yep... thar she be. I must have literally been feeling up the cache at least three or four times before I discovered it. Very well hidden! Kabs approves . I was also quite pleased by the fact that the cache container is holding up quite well. Others that I've seen of this variety ended up basically failing, and allowing moisture to easily get inside. So yeah, all in all, definitely happy with this one.

That find under my belt, I tossed in a micromail ball and closed up the cache container. Replacing it from whence it came, I hopped onto my bike to head off towards the next cache.

Oh, and if only I had come up with a better comeback to those idiots. Even over the period of typing this, I've come up with another few good ones. Damn you hindsight !
