Had to fix the problem of a park in St. Norbert WITHOUT a geocache!

Cache is hidden in lock and lock container, accessible from 2 directions. Contains a first to find certificate, a pinwheel geocoin, and other tradable items. This cache is hidden on our anniversary. Hope you can also have some "Magical Moments" while on the hunt for this one.

Sept 18/09
After Swylie told us of the hole near by, we contacted hydro and the area has been flagged. They will be filling it in soon.
Stay away from the flagging!!

Found it 8/17/2009 by Kabuthunk
There we go. I had set out this morning for a very specific reason. I had a geocache to find. More specifically, I had a geocache that would be capable of fitting a new travelbug I just created. Thus, I had a quest. I guess technically I could have put it in any of the number of caches I've already found... but I want to avoid that if I can help it. Not sure why... it just seems more 'right' to drop a TB in a newly found cache.

Thus... the hunt for a cache that I would be sure could hold it began! I started off about an hour and a half before I had to be at work (got lazy and preoccupied this morning, and kinda dwindled my time away ToungeOut), and the morning wasn't looking like prime weather for trying to find a cache quickly. It was cold and drizzly out, with spurts of rain between. All in all... not what one would expect in the middle of August... what's supposed to be one of our hottest months of the year ToungeOut. I was debating whether to try for a 'small' sized cache, or hold out for the 'regular' or 'large' cache sizes. Zooming out on the GPS from near home as I started out, I discovered that I've already found any caches that were 'small' or larger within several miles of home. Not wanting to stray too far from work, in case the hunt took longer than expected, I circled past my workplace on Pembina, and continued Southward. It took a bit of looking, but eventually I located this cache... a beacon of 'regular size' in a sea of 'micro or small'! Although, after having found the cache, I would have personally put it under 'small', but that's just me. Although, then I may not have gone after it, since I've seen people classify an Altoids tin as a 'small' cache ToungeOut.

That aside, I made a beeline for the cache (as best I could do as such in a car)! Several minutes later, I found my way into the residential zone which contained the cache. I found parking fairly nearby (I think it was 260 meters away), and jogged over. I ended up having to wipe my glasses off on my already damp shirt when I got to the coordinates however, since the drizzle was covering them all the way. Thankfully, when I got near the coordinates, there was ample coverage above me to keep me nice and dry for the rest of it Smile. It took a bit if circling around (and doing as such in there while wearing work-clothes isn't that easy for the record), but eventually I stumbled across the cache container BigSmile. My travelbug fit easily inside, and I signed the logbook. Mission accomplished!

However, I had discovered during the drive an added dilemma which I sought to take care of... but which would consume nearly half of my entire available time. In order for said travelbug to log correctly if someone retrieved it during the day (which didn't happen, so it was all a moot point anyway ToungeOut), after finding the cache I quickly drove home (since this site is blocked at work... no, not my fault, it's always been), tossed up a temporary note on this cache page so I could drop the TB in. Ahh, when I finished that, I found I had exactly enough time to get BACK to work (which I had driven by to get to this cache to begin with earlier). A bit of a roundabout way of doing things, but was all in all effective BigSmile.

Thanks for giving me a launching pad for my travelbug. Nice little manmade lake there, and had I enough time (and it was nicer out) I probably would have followed the stream for a while to see where it led, or if there's any good biking trails.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry, "A Simple Swatch Of Chainmail" travelbug, and chainmail ball
