Anderson Cooper is a well known newsperson on CNN, he hosts Anderson Cooper 360 and seems to like to go and visit Hurricanes when they make landfall. Did you know he has a famous mother who goes by a different name. The sign at the location of this cache is the hint. If you need another hint, decipher below. [Second find of the day! It's nice to see something other than micros and ridiculously small smalls hiding in parks nowadays. I think I've found nothing but those sizes for the past month or so . So hey... two regular-sized caches, this close to eachother? Oh, I'm SO going after them!

I had just finished finding the nearby 'Smith' cache, and had initially begun walking off towards this one. However, looking across the pond, I noticed that there was no walking path that circled it. It looks like almost all of the perimeter, save the two ends, were private yards. *sigh* Looks like no nice kilometer-long, round-trip walk to both caches for me. And it was such a nice day for a walk. I suppose I could have followed the road... but it's just not the same was walking beside a body of water (albeit artificial). So... back to the car I trudged, to eventually re-park close to this cache. About 30 meters, in actuality.

At that point, I noticed the name of the cache. I didn't take note of it before, since I just pointed my GPS at the next geocache waypoint. But I happened to check my GPS for the last 4 logs out of curiosity, and noticed the name was 'Anderson'.

Now, I'm almost POSITIVE that it's a coincidence... but two caches, so close to eachother, by the same person... with names related to Smith and Anderson? Sounds a little... matrixy, if you ask me . So naturally, the entire time I was hunting for the cache, I had the following running through in my head:

Goodbye, Mr. Anderson...

Along with a smattering of other random quotes from the Matrix.


...Almost positive. There's still an inking in the back of my mind saying "oh, that's TOTALLY on purpose!" But all of that is besides the point... I had a cache to find . I circled around the posted coordinates a bit, and quickly saw something that sank my heart a little bit. It appeared to be] a bungee-cord, lying all by its lonesome, not attached to anything. Unhooked, unstretched... just... there. I immediately thought the worst. Given how 'new' it looked, I was fairly certain it was meant to hold the cache in place. [I even went so far as to take out my camera to snap a picture of it and send it to the cache owner. However, as I was getting into a position to take a good picture, I noticed the cache. It was] just lying there, beside the cord, but it was in a position in which I couldn't see it initially.

["SWEET", I thought. "The cache ISN'T missing!" Working my way to the container, I retrieved it, signed it, chainmail balled it, and poked around at what was inside. Not seeing anything catch my interest, I close it up again. I replaced it how I THOUGHT the cache should be placed. Given it was seemingly out of place when I got there, I can only hope that it's correctly where it should be. The owner may want to at one point or another check where I've got it, and verify that's how they want it. It's quite well hidden how I have it... but y'never know, y'know?

So thank you for both caches, and the Matrix-quote-inducing qualities of them . Pretty nice parks... although the one on this side is significantly smaller than the other side. And how come the other side gets a sitting platform, and this one doesn't, hmm? It's time to petition... for PARK EQUALITY !
