Drive-up cache. Location can be a high muggle area at times...so proceed accordingly. Cache has a few trade items and a log book. At time of placement, cache did not contain pencil...but I will add one on next trip back, if a pencil has not been added by next cachers.

As with many caches in the South end of the city, I've been eyeing this one for a while. Many a time have I driven relatively close to it, but haven't had the opportunity to stop by and hunt for it. Well, today that was going to change. Obviously, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing this and such ToungeOut.

My wife Laura had just finished making a payment at the HBC nearby. She drove by all the new buildings as we both attempted to figure out what stores were going to be coming in (c'mon... no more stupid clothes stores... let's see some electronics or something). Glancing at my GPS as we neared Costco, I realized that we were a mere few hundred meters away.

"Turn right here!" I exclaimed. "There's a geocache like... right over there, it'll just take me a second."

Thankfully, we had a bit of time to kill, so she wandered over to a parking spot at the end of the lot. At a random first glance from a distance, I figured it'd be in the patch of trees past the parking lot. Given that's nowhere remotely close to the coordinates, I was clearly mistaken ToungeOut. As she waited in the car, I got out and looked around. Dead-empty. It was still vaguely early-ish on Saturday, so many people hadn't yet wandered out go to shopping or whatever. Not a soul was to be seen... sounds like good geocaching time for those high-profile type caches near lots of bystanders.

As I walked towards the coordinates, I found that my approximations of where the cache could be were quickly becoming incorrect. However, once I lined myself up with pointing directly at the coordinates, I knew where it had to be from a distance away. Calmly walking over, I took a quick glance around again (yay, noone around) before diving in. I was correct! Strangely, I've only actually encountered two other caches of this hiding style in all of my geocaching. Unless random chance has just had me not have the opportunity, that's another option.

In either case, not wanting to hang around should the area become busy, I quickly signed the logbook and clamped it shut. Not before tossing in a chainmail ball of course. Several seconds later, the cache was back in its hiding spot, and its camouflage was back in place. Due to the camouflage, it's not exactly the quietest to get at or return, so I'm definitely thankful that there was noone immediately nearby. Albeit I'm sure if I were to be a hundred meters East or so, there would have been a lot more issues with obtaining the cache. Thankfully it's not, so there wasn't. Otherwise, this may well have had to be a night-cache for my likings ToungeOut.

And not a moment too soon! About 10 seconds after leaving the coordinates, another car pulled up and parked about 40 feet away, followed by another one that circled around to the back of the building. Whether they were geocachers or not is debatable, but I didn't stay around long enough to figure it out. Back to the car I went, and we took off!

Another cache successfully found. Thanks for giving me a bonus destination amongst our travels today BigSmile.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
