Very well hidden from muggles but should be an easy find for cachers. This cache can be accessed by parking at the nearby picnic site. Be sure to have a park pass. Cache contains FTF certificate, logbook, and a writing stick. We started the hunt of with a charm, thermometer, rubber ball and a mirco container. Enjoy and good luck. Have fun caching!!

The name of this cache still perplexes me a bit. The area inside of the trees there DOES make it feel kinda like a secret hideout of some sort (perhaps if there was more of a clearing, it'd be doubly so), but the 'bin' part doesn't quite link up to anything in my mind.

Well, in any case... this was cache number 8 for me for today. This cache was actually the 'turning point' for me, so to speak. Prior to finding this cache, I still had the daily personal 'goal' of just taking it easy and relaxing for the day... not bothering to find more than 7 or 8 caches. However, after I had found this cache... I felt compelled to push myself to find the rest needed to break my previous single-day record of 12 back in 2006. Albeit, back then I was writing logs that were about 100 words or so... so given I now my online logs end up at around 600ish, that makes for a whole new daily record in and of itself .

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Slowly working my way over towards this cache, I found myself looking at all of the structures that I got to pass on the way over. One of the miniature house-looking things (what are those for, anyway? That was boggling the hell out of me. In fact, I couldn't really tell what MOST of these assumingly training structures were for, aside from simply "climb over") looks like it'd been partially pushed over. That made me kinda sad, thinking it may have been done by random punks who felt like destroying something. But given how heavily used all of the equipment seemed to be, I eventually figured it was probably just age combined with heavy use.

Anyway, after looking inside of one of those house-things (and seeing nothing as expected), I took a detour into the trees towards the coordinates. Following what I assume was an animal path (or maybe a geotrail... but I wouldn't doubt that 99% of the geotrails in this park started as animal trails anyway , I quickly found myself nearing the coordinates. Hopping off the bike, I began my hunt.

Turns out I had to work my way off the trail a bit more than expected (the tree cover today has been playing havoc with my signal, it seems), but soon enough spotted what I figured would have to be the cache container. I was actually quite glad I had found it quickly, since by the time I got into the trees, the 'turning point' had been passed, and I was seeking out to beat my old one-day record. Sure enough, checking on my hunch, the cache quickly showed itself. A quick signing and chainmail-balling later (that sounds wrong, somehow...), and I replaced the cache as I had found it. Back out the trees I went from whence I came, and continued on towards the "Rock Pile" cache to the Southeast (which would hopefully cause less confusion than the "Rock Hill" confusion of 2007).

Thanks for placing the cache that ended up being the turning point in the day for me . I got to check out the strange training structures nearby, and enjoy a full day of nature at the same time as break an old record .
