This cache is for both amateur and begginer cachers. You might have to watch for ticks, depending on the season.

The container is a potato salad container that we got from thaks giving! I named it Rabbit Habit because my favourite animals are rabbits and you have to think of where they live.

Found it 6/14/2009 by Kabuthunk
The sixth cache of the day for me. I was at this point still going under the theory that I wouldn't bother finding more than 6 or 7 caches today... but given the end result was a new personal daily record of 15, I clearly didn't follow that theory for too much longer ToungeOut.

But in either case, having still been under the original 'take it easy' plan, I slowly worked my way over to this cache from the nearby '1st JdG Cub Cache' to the Northeast. My general plan was to make a circuit around the main road in Bird's Hill Park, and locate the caches generally found closest to the road. Albeit this cache fit the bill for that description, some others later on clearly did not (especially number 13, but that's besides the point).

After having found the 1st JdG Cub Cache, I took nice, easy roads and paths to reach this one. Given the last few have had me biking through fields or over uneven terrain, it was quite relaxing to let momentum do most of the work for me. In fact, before I knew it, I had passed the geocache, and had to turn around to go back for it. Of course, I swear half of the cars travelling around the road at this time picked that exact moment to go by, hindering my turning around (I like to be on the right-side of the road for the direction I'm travelling), but a minute or so later, and I was back near the coordinates.

Swinging into the area, I slowed down the bike, and for some reason had this urge to see if I could 'spot the geocache' before the bike had fully stopped. Yeah, that didn't work so well ToungeOut. Quickly coming to a stop and hopping off the bike, my first rolling-searches turned up nothing, nor did the more thorough searches immediately following. Looking at the GPS again, I discovered that it was placing me about 8 meters from the cache. Bah... made the exact same mistake as with the last cache... didn't wait for the GPS to correct itself for the sudden change in velocity when I stopped. Well... mental note for sometime after today ToungeOut.

Finding my way to the ACTUAL ground zero, I quickly spotted what I figured had to be the hiding spot. The cache name also tended to lean me in that direction as well. A few seconds later, I was pleased to find out that I was correct.

Although, you REALLY want to look into replacing the cache container sometime in the future. It looks like the plastic of it has been mangled pretty thoroughly over the course of time, and the inside has many a shard of plastic jutting out and cracked. It's being held together primarily by it's outer camouflage, but I fear moisture will get inside fairly easily. It'd be a shame, too... since the logbook is getting quite full of interesting logs that people have written Smile. It'll definitely make for an interesting reading one day or another at least.

But that aside, the cache in hand, I tossed in a chainmail ball and signed up the logbook. Replacing the cache as I had found it, I made my way back to the bike and headed for the next cache.

Thanks for taking me to this interesting structure though. I can't recall offhand what it may have once been used for (if I did think about it when I was actually there, it's since slipped my mind), but I dunno... inside large parks like this, finding unusual structures has always been interesting to me. And this park as a whole ton of random structures kicking around here and there Smile.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
