It is a smallish Rubbermaid container. Our Cub Pack placed this cache and made it available to other cub packs to find. We are now making it available for everyone. We have a badges in it for trading with other cub packs and other items for trade. Please leave the badges trading with other scouting organizations.

Fifth cache of the day for me, of a decently prolific day of geocaching. Albeit it's not as ridiculous as the pro's who can find like... 50 in a day, a respectable 15 is still quite prolific for me. It got me a new one-day record, anyway . Still at this point, I didn't have any particular goals set in mind, and had planned only to find maybe 5 or so caches for the day, and basically take it easy.

So having just found the '303 Pathfinders' cache to the North, I finished cruising down the large hill there and worked my way towards this cache. Not having read the description beforehand, I was unaware that this was a cub-based geocache! Quite interesting, anyway. Didn't spot any badges inside the cache container offhand, but I wasn't looking all that terribly closely. I geocache moreso for the hunt than the swag . I also didn't spot the geocoin that's supposed to be inside of here, but again... not that thorough of a search.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. As I reached the cache coordinates, I realized that I might have to be a bit stealthier than usual, since a family appeared to be having a picnic at the nearby shaded picnic area. Whatever you call those 'four posts and a roof' shelters... seems to be slipping from my mind for some reason . Anyhoo, rolling up to the area, I hopped off my bike and began looking in and amongst that log-based structure there. Not entirely sure what the purpose of that is, but as tempted as I was it sit in the shade beneath it, I figured the lack of breeze would make that more bad than good . It was about 3:30 in the afternoon today, and the high was supposed to be +25... which I imagine it must have been nearing by now.

Not finding anything, I checked the GPS to see if I could find which side I should be looking on.

Huh... about 15 meters away it seems.

Mentally slapping myself upside the head, I made my way closer to the coordinates. This'll teach me to quickly rush into the search without waiting for my GPS to re-correct my location based on my sudden change in speed. Finding myself near several large conifers, I began hunting from the side facing away from the picnic area to avoid looking conspicuous. Peering in and amongst the branches, I found... nothing. Well... lots of leaves and branches, but nothing cache-based. Doing a quick circle around the trees, and I still had nothing. However, on my return circle, that oh-so-helpful glimmer of light caught my eye. The sight of light reflecting off of something non-natural. Sure enough, checking out what I had spotted, I quickly had the cache in-hand .

Poking around inside, I soon tossed in one of my many chainmail balls, and returned the cache from whence it came. Mission accomplished! Although, the cache owner may want to consider replacing the tape on the surface of the cache... it seems to be peeling off quite a bit. Perhaps get some of that camouflage bookbinding tape or something... it's damn near impossible for that to be removed from anything .

In either case, thanks for the cache. More geocaches in Bird's Hill park are always a good thing .
