Decided go for a quick geocaching run today after work. Seems that I need to go further and further to find a geocache these days... it's been slowing me down a bit . But today however... I had a massive geocaching itch, and needed some scratchin'. Since I needed to go out on a quick shopping run, I figured I could do both .

So poking around my GPS (who's batteries died, causing me to have to swap out my camera batteries for this cache ), I noticed that this was fairly close, and in what appeared to be an interesting place (at least from a road-on-gps-screen perspective). In the middle of a bay, inside a meander of the river? Sounds like some very potentially interesting location .

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to bike here like Burchil, and I needed to carry a fair amount of groceries... so the Kabucar helped me along to this one a bit faster (although I must admit... when not used to it, navigating that tanglyassified intersection to get into and out of this area was interesting to say the least ). Lots of easy parking, and for some reason it seemed to be dead quiet for me to look around. It's like everyone goes to sleep at 6:00pm around these parts or something .

Found the cache without much difficulty, to say the least. I was somewhat surprised it hadn't gone missing with how visible it was (I did my best to better camo it afterwards with some 'natural' camo found abundantly underneath it ). However, upon opening the logbook, it appeared that the cache wasn't quite as bystander-free as I figured. On the last pages of the logbook (right prior to mine now, anyway), someone posted like... a page and a half of asking questions about what the container was for, why people are leaving stuff, who the owner is, and if they live nearby, etc, etc. I wrote a good page-long response explaining the basics of geocaching, trading items, and listed the geocaching webpage address. Hopefully we have some potential geocachers on our hands, since they left this one alone while knowing nothing about it . I'd have taken a picture of my logbook... but again, had to swap out the camera batteries earlier, and didn't feel like swapping them back again .

Very nice place in general. It has just been mown, so the smell of fresh cut grass was still somewhat in the air. The flowers nearby are in full bloom, and the area in general seemed very peaceful. Makes me want to live there now .
