[Man, it's been about a week since I last had a chance to go geocaching... and I was hankering to get back out there pretty hard. Cracking open the 'closest to home' geocaches, I see this one at the top of the list. Interesting name... let's go take a looksee. I was feeling intrigued at the moment, so I figured I'd give a shot at trying to decipher the code.

I've generally never been good at deciphering codes. Like... at all . However... having attempted to look up information in Wikipedia regarding different types of ciphers and whatnot, I vaguely remembered several types of ciphers (and that the page had how to solve them). I decided to go hunt these down. I ended up looking for what I thought was the right code for several hours... which turned out to be a] Vigen�re cipher... [which turned out to be completely incorrect . During my search however, I came across a different type of cipher that involved the aspect I was looking for. So... after attempting to use it incorrectly, I retried and came up with a success! Once I had decoded the first several letters and came up with a valid word, I knew I was on the right track.

Fast forward to a bit ago. I had managed to convince my fiancee to at least tag along with me to tackle this geocache. Parking nearby, she opted to stay in the car (she's not all that fond of bugs and cankerworms), so I ran in. Note: Lotsa animals around here. Aside from the crow that almost flew into me, we saw a few rabbits (see attached pic of one of them). Yay for forest-caches!!! I loved the hiding spot, too. No chance of someone stumbling onto THAT location.
