The park is a summer home for many Canadian geese, and a few ducks, during the summer. You may even see goslings in late May and into June. This park serves many purposes. It is a green space for the community and has a man-made lake that serves as a stormwater retention basin. It also has two playgrounds, on either end of the park, for the community schools. During lunch hour on weekdays this park is a walking destination for the nearby office workers. As well, waterfowl can also be seen walking around in the park. However, you have to watch where you step because of all the natural fertilizer left by the geese. Thus, the name of the cache. The problem was to find a hiding place. Since this is a relatively new park there is not sufficient vegetation to hide a cached in. And judging from the vandalism, anything that can be destroyed would be in danger. So, it took me quite a while to come up with a good location. This cache was created to add to the number of QUALITY caches hidden in Manitoba. It is an official BLITZ cache for the May Madness event. In this case, Location, Location, Location is the key.

Round 2... victory! Yep, relatively easily found it this time. Pretty safe bet I would have found it the first time around if it was there before, but oh well... at least it's back now. If I had found it in the wrong place before, I would have put it back there and the cache would still have been in the same boat anyway . Also took my fiancee along with me to this one. Her very first cache . She's not too interested in geocaching... YET. Don't worry, I'll get her into it eventually .
Took: Mini waterproof keychain thing (the fiancee wanted it, and I figured she should have something from her first cache tag-along).

Scoured that corner of the park for nearly an hour before work today and couldn't find a thing. Not sure if it's missing or if I'm just blind. Coming to this page and reading the logs other people posted here, I think I either idiotically missed it by placing my hand close, but not on it... or it's somewhere I just didn't think of entirely. Most likely the latter :P. Nice little pond though. TONS of geese and ducks... some of whom were following me as I headed to the location. Very few people to interrupt me... which is good, because I poked and prodded everything I could think of. Don't worry... I'll be back for this one when I get some kind of confirmation either from someone else finding it, or from the cache owner.
