Found it 10/3/2008 by Kabuthunk
Was barely able to get out to a cache today... almost broke my streak of 13 days in a row of finding a cache! But luckly, this was pseudo-on-the-way home ToungeOut. As with the past many caches I've found, I went after this one immediately after leaving work. Pretty much straight North, and I was just crossing my fingers that there would be parking nearby. After getting closer however, I realized that this wouldn't be a problem. Also, the name of the cache made a lot more sense, too ToungeOut.

Got there about about 6:10pm or so, and surprisingly it was pretty quiet. All of two other cars in the parking lot. However... not wanting to look suspicious, I decided to sacrifice some of my spare change to give me a good alibi. Well, it wasn't so much sacrifice as it was "willingly give in" ToungeOut. And what better alibi could there be on a VERY nice evening than to saunter around on the grass, drinking my alibi, and soaking up the evening sun? Like... seriously, it was friggin' gorgeous outside. If I didn't need to be back home shortly, I would have relaxed out there for a lot longer. Or at least until my alibi was empty ToungeOut.

As with Peter and Gloria, the coordinates were pointing me towards the ditch. Thinking it's ridiculously unlikely to be hiding in there, I still kicked around a bit, just in case. After a few seconds of that, I decided that before I check out what would be the most likely location, I'd check what the cache description said on cachemate. The description of the cache container only further cemented my belief that it was where I thought it'd be.

But what's this? Someone just... standing around at the corner by the entrance. A tad suspicious, thinks I. Could I have run into another geocacher? He seems to be lacking a handheld tracking device however. This suspicion was quickly whisked away though when his ride came by and picked him up. Ok, so it looks like I'm the only geocacher here at the moment. Too bad... it's way too rare that I run into another geocacher in the field Frown.

So, sauntering my way over, alibi in hand, I go rest my bones pretty much directly above the cache. While waiting for the coast to be nice and clear, I kicked back while watching traffic go by, sipping the aformentioned alibi. Definitely a nice evening to relax outside. If I had a patio, I would have spent the rest of the evening on it. Well... until it got too cold, of course.

With the coast eventually clear, I quickly snagged the cache. Except that it decided to put up a bit of a fight. Took me about 10 seconds of fanangling to get it out of its hidey-hole. A quick signing of the logbook, and what's this? Is that... an Ubuntu CD? Yoink, I'll take that! One Ironman pog slammer for one Ubuntu CD... basically just saves me the effort of obtaining a copy myself. I've been wanting to switch to that version of Linux for a while now Smile.

Clamping it shut again, I quickly returned it to its hiding spot and finished my alibi. A job well done Smile. Although I'll have to echo Peter and Gloria's mention that the coordinates should be updated to the ones they provided. A lot more bang-on than the original, which as mentioned seems to point you towards a ditch.

Otherwise, thanks for the cache, and the added opportunity to fill up on one of my favourite coffees BigSmile.

Took: Ubuntu CD
Left: Logbook entry, Ironman pog slammer, and chainmail ball
