The first cache of the day for me. I actually wasn't anticipating tackling this cache today, since we were doing various other activities that soaked up the morning and afternoon. Seeing as we were on vacation, shopping devoured a fair portion of today's time. Although, that's not to say I haven't been caching for the vacation thus far. As of starting out for my bro's place for a week week off from work, I've found caches in Saskatchewan, Banff National Park, British Columbia, and only one local cache near my bro's place. Today however, that would change. Well, the 'one local cache' part, anyway.

So after the aformentioned shopping, my brother wanted to check up on a cache of his that had apparently gone missing (which I later helped him find where it was missing from, and find a place to put his new cache... the combination of the two of which landed me the right to log it as a find )... but on the way towards there, we planned to tackle this cache. Seeing as my brother (PurpleMonkeyDishwasher) had already found this cache in the past, once we neared the coordinates, he hung back and let me tackle the location on my own. And tackle I did! The GPS kindly enough led me to the right general vicinity, however there appeared to be quite the natural barrier that was hindering an easy retrieval. Prior to spotting the cache, my arms took quite the beating while attempting to find anything. Midway through the search, I was tempted to pull out gloves and see if that would help at all... but figuring that'd take too long (we were on somewhat a schedule, since we had plans for later that evening), I just bit my lip and kept going. Thankfully however, it only took another few minutes before I spotted the elusive cache .

Although, I must say... despite the size of the cache and the nature of the hide, it was actually very well hidden, and wasn't readily spottable. Or maybe I was just blind today, one of the two . So a quick retrieval later, my brother and I were reading through the logbook (which has a LOT of interesting entries... props to coming up with the awesome cache idea ). However, we quickly came to the conclusion that we really need to move on if we're not going to be late, and I signed up the logbook (with my three wishes in there... since it appears that noone is posting them online, I'll just kinda follow the pack and go with the same theory) and dropped in a signature chainmail ball.

You may however want to consider getting a new... instrument by which the cache container is kept in place. It looks like the original one either got bent or damaged somehow, and I'm pretty sure that's why the last cache finder located it on the ground instead of where it's supposed to be. I've got it replaced as best I can, but it's not as secure as it could be. I can't imagine how it'd become dislodged to begin with, but with the types of weather I hear can come up around Calgary, I wouldn't be surprised .

But thanks for placing the interesting cache here. Definitely lots of fun reading the logbook with my bro .
