Cache container is a camouflaged lock 'n' lock. Found this area while walking the paths and thought it would be a great place for a cache, come find the cache and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This is my first ever cache hide hope you enjoy.

And for the final cache of the day, I went after the only cache placed by my bro's common-law, GirlWithNoName. I've actually spent the last several days with the two of them (and my wife of course), since I'm currently on vacation in Calgary for the week. There wasn't enough time to go after this cache in the first few days we had arrived in town, since we were... oh, I don't know... SITTING IN HOT SPRINGS IN BANFF OR PLAYING IN WATERFALLS IN B.C. ! Truly, it's been an epic vacation thus far. But... today was our first day of slowing down the previous several days' hectic pace. Some shopping here and there (and thankfully, I managed to pick up my replacement GPS... but due to map uploading, I was still using my bro's GPS for this one), followed by some caching. After helping my brother replace what had been a missing cache of his, we headed over here for GWNN to do a quick checkup on hers.

But not before I had located it myself, of course. Gotta keep this challenging after all . So I made my way ahead of the group with the GPS, and began the hunt. At first, the stupid GPS decided that it was going to... I'm not even sure, maybe attempt to project the coordinates to where I was going to be if I was still going at a brisk walk or something. One way or the other, for the first minute or so, I was searching in the entirely wrong location. Well, I had the right idea, but was about 12 meters off or so. However, after I heard some talking or chuckling from behind me, I re-checked the GPS which by that point had decided to be normal again, and quickly corrected where I was hunting. Poking around in various places (and imagining that some of the larger areas I could probably almost fit inside of... but PurpleMonkeyDishwasher reminded me I'd probably never be able to extract myself from ), I managed to turn up the cache container . So while I was reading over the logbook (and eventually signing it), GWNN and PMD did a quick look-over of the cache to make sure it was still ship-shape.

Satisfied with the cache contents and status of the container, I tossed in a signature chainmail ball and closed the cache back up. I placed the cache back from whence it came, and am still surprised with how well it blends in. Typically, with this type of hide, it's somewhat semi-conspicuous looking, which gives it away. This one still has a minor bit of that affliction, but significantly lesser-so than pretty much any others hidden in a similar fashion. Good spot-picking, GWNN .

So, the find and cache checkup complete, we headed back to the car... at which point we were confronted by a somewhat frantic looking man. He asked us if we had seen a child running around. Saying we hadn't seen a thing, he thanked us and bolted back across the street. It was a little weird, and hopefully he found his kid. We were pretty sure that by the time we got to the car, we saw him by the play structure with a child of some sort, so hopefully it all worked out in the end. A bit off-topic, but was just a kinda unusual ending for a caching .

In either case, thanks for the cache GWNN, and hopefully the email notification popping up on your cellphone from this find won't wake you up. Seeing as it's about 1:00am, I'd feel a little bad (but probably amused, too) if you lost sleep over this log . Well, given we're crashing at your place for the week, I'll just listen closely after hitting "submit", and see if I hear it coming from down the hall .
