Cette petite zone de fort laiss l’tat sauvage doit srement abriter de nombreux animaux. J’aime bien penser tous ces habitants non-humains qui passent leur vie dans un petit coin tranquille pas loin de plusieurs blocs appartements grouillants.

This little forest naturalisation area must be home for many animals. I like to think of all the lives going on in this calm little non-human neighbourhood close to so many busy appartment complexes.

Please be respectful of this environment and use one of the trail entrances to enter the woods.

Well, this was a rather interesting little area. I've found other caches in areas similar to this, where seemingly in the middle of urbanville, there's a strange section of forest, sometimes so thick you'd only be able to get through it with a chainsaw. No, nothing like that was done today ToungeOut.

I started out the day by taking advantage of the weather to go biking for a little while. After a bit I started getting chilly and low on water, and decided to head back. Thankfully however, it appears that sometime since I last looked in this area for caches, a few new ones have sprung up! Hey, not going to argue... I'm always a fan of caches appearing where I had once found them all BigSmile. So setting my GPS on the waypoint, I took a turn off of the Bishop Grandin Greenway and headed up towards the coordinates. I was somewhat familiar with the street since I had a friend that lived in the area not long ago (they've moved since).

As the description requests, I most certainly attempted to access the area through any kind of trail... pretty much since that was about the only option to begin with. I kinda walked my bike back and forth for a little bit, attempting to spot the most logical way of entering the forest area (is this actually called forest? Mildly curious what it's actually defined as, since 'bushy area' doesn't really sound right). After coming to a conclusion as to the best way to get inside, I slowly worked myself and my bike down one of the paths, at least enough for my bike to be mostly out of view so I could leave it against a tree.

Continuing further on foot, I was glad to see that it opened up a bit more as I kept going West. I figured the cache would also be a bit more interesting to find right now, since there's a ridiculous amount of leaves on the ground. However, before I had a chance to worry about that too much, when I started getting closer to ground zero, I noticed that someone in the nearest yard was mowing the lawn (getting one last mow in for the year I guess). With the sound of the mower, I figured there was a decent chance he wouldn't hear me crunching through the leaves, so I slowly worked myself towards ground zero, and the spot I figured the cache would likely be hiding.

Keeping the densest (which wasn't very dense, given the lack of leaves on most everything) plantlife between myself and the person mowing, I eventually got up to ground zero, and was rewarded with my first attempt at looking for the cache being the correct spot. The second I got there, I crouched down as best I could and removed my bright red biking helmet to attempt to blend in more. From where I was positioned, the mower, if he happened to look in my direction, would have had a hard time spotting me at any point during his walking back and forth. The container was a bit hesitant to leave the hiding spot, but I soon had the cache in hand and was signing the logbook. One chainmail ball signature item later, and I had replaced the cache. However, as luck would have it the guy stopped his mower, and the area was filled with silence.

Since I had just replaced the container, I attempted to slowly begin to work my way out of the area as quietly as possible. It ended up not being a problem, since I didn't spot the person when it was stopped (assumingly he went inside for a moment), and the mower started up again shortly thereafter. At that point, it once again became easy to get back to my bike and work my way back out from whence I came. The exit was a lot easier than the entrance however, since at least going out the branches were all going 'with' me instead of 'against' me, if that makes sense.

One way or another, I love the caches in dense little wooded areas like this one. Thanks for putting the cache here and giving me a bit of a rather leafy adventure Smile.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
