Man, this cache just about kicked the crap outta me! I started out by parking on Lemay Avenue, since I didn't know what kind of parking would be available up ahead. The coordinates were about 500 meters away as the bird flies... and it was a beautiful day for a walk, so you can't go wrong .

I started out hoofing it to the next corner and going towards the coordinates, until I came upon a large facility... can't remember what it was... behavioral something or other, or something like that. At that point, I stopped dead. I was a bit perplexed as to whether this was private property or not, or if I should be there. Odds are there wouldn't be any problems, but I tend to err on the safe side. Especially when I'm unfamiliar with the area... and I was very unfamiliar with this place . The closest I've been is to the Farmer's Market a bit away.

So that's where I went. Going back and down another street, I ended up cutting behind that heritage area, and through the Farmer's Market (if it were open, of course). Nice and quiet, except for a few random teens hanging out at one of the tables there. Cutting across a field, I found my way to the top of a ridge and followed that the rest of the way. When I neared the coordinates, I dropped down behind the embankment, which cut off all sound of the outside world. Ahh... sweet, peaceful solitude . I've always said I'm for the most part a 'loner' type person... and I gotta say... when I come across complete, quiet solitude surrounded by nature... I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be .

Going down a little bit further, I found a structure of some sort there. I have no clue what it's purpose actually is, since it seems to be run down enough to have several holes in it, and severed pipes and whatnot... but it amused me greatly that it had a 'moat' of sorts. Albeit the 'moat' was filled with grass, it was still amusing . I began to ponder if the name of the cache had something to do with either the structure, the moat, or something else around here, but I couldn't figure it out. All I could picture was a little mini-boat being launched into that moat-type indent if it were full of water .

But... on with the search! And search I did, for a good 20 or so minutes. After those 20 or so minutes, I pulled out my Palm Pilot and checked the description. It gave me a bit of a tip, but didn't help all that much. The past logs however gave me a bit of a tip as to by what method it was hidden. It at least narrowed down my search, anyway. More scouring, scrounging, poking and prodding. At long last, after taking several breaks to just sit, think, and stare out over the potential hiding spots, I got lucky! I think I had passed by the cache's hiding spot at least a dozen times during my hunt . In fact, I think I specifically searched about a foot to the left and a foot to the right of it earlier, but somehow managed to pass over the actual spot. I had the right hunting method for about 15 minutes of my looking, and it paid off in the end . Popping it open, I found all kinds of little trinkets and doo-dads. The little skull-thing amused me, but I couldn't think of a possible use for it, so left it for another.

Thanks for taking me off into a nice, quiet, foresty type area. It was nice and relaxing, albeit kinda hot and mosquitoey today. But the relaxation I got from a nice, quiet, hearing-only-nature area by far outweighed that .
