VERY busy lot, extreme muggle warning during store hours. Very winter friendly. This one used to be about 18 feet in the air but kept migrating to 5 feet. Then the container came apart a few times. So, now it is a simple park and grab with much lower difficulty ratings. found.Congrats to BBrown94 on being FTF. Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

I was somewhat hoping that someone else might find the cache after my last DNF, in the blind hope that it would end up being more accessible for the second time around. I had also hoped to remember to bring some supplies and/or tools to assist me with obtaining the cache. As it turns out, I forgot to bring ANYTHING with me aside from my usual geocaching kit, and not only did nobody log online that they had found the cache after my attempt... but when I arrived, I'd swear that if anything it would be even more of a challenge to obtain it.

Since I had booked today off from work long ago, but with the forecast for the area I had originally planned to go indicating rain all weekend, I decided to spend at the bare minimum today hunting for geocaches. More specifically, I wanted to go after my previous DNFs and see if I could resolve them. The last DNF was keeping my email busy with notifications that it kept being found, but this one? All quiet on the western front, it would seem. But at least with THIS cache, the location of it wouldn't be a problem at all... it was merely finding an opportunity to tackle it.

And this time, I was showing up to the area distinctly wife-less. Stealth and patience for a hobby that she "just doesn't get" is not her strong suit .

Thus, traveling solo today, I work my way into the parking lot and prepare my game plan. Extremely thankfully, the #14 bus that had plagued my by not showing up last time had JUST left with any waiting people as I turned the corner towards Cabala's . Doing a quick walk to Dollarama to drop off some garbage in their can and back to scope things out, I came to the conclusion that the parking lot isn't too ridiculously busy right now. Since I had showed up before virtually anywhere lets out of work, the place wasn't absolutely swamped with people walking into and out of stores. Aside from the cars in the parking lot, there were very few people actually in sight. However, I'd still have to kick my stealth meter up to full. On top of this, when I arrived this time, I'd SWEAR that the cache somehow looked even LESS accessible than last time somehow. In the end, I would learn that it had been found on the 29th according to the logbook, and the finder had indeed taken care in re-hiding it at the same elevation... possibly even improving on its hiding spot.

And so, I figured the best course of action would be similar to last time... I'm merely here, waiting for a bus. Just not standing right at the post, but continuing to look for a bus coming.

And then suddenly, when a glance around indicated that the coast was about as clear as it was going to get, *BAM*, cache is in hand! It wasn't a particularly easy grab, and I must admit, it made me very nervous... and not about people nearby . Sitting down in my 'watch for the bus' spot again, I quickly signed the logbook and fanangled a micromail ball into the cache container (although the cache owner may want to replace the tape inside... it seems to be peeling). Carefully holding the cache container in my hand, I waited for the coast to be clear again and *BAM*, the cache was back in place after maybe a second and a half. Examining my work, I'm fairly certain I placed it about as identically as the last cacher as is possible. More luck on that one than anything, but hey... whatever works .

Hopping into the car, I stayed put and staked out the area for a good several minutes to see if anyone would... I dunno, try to see what I was doing. With the area remaining vacated, I headed out, with one less (and in fact the last) unresolved DNF... resolved . Thanks for the interesting cache... I kinda wish more caches used this container style. They make the obtainment of it all the more interesting .

Looks like I'll have to return to this one sometime or another. My search (or more accurately, my retrieval) came to a rather abrupt and unexpected end. My wife and I were out shopping around in general, and had just spent a fair amount of time wandering around inside Cabala's. After having perused around in there for quite some time, we left and I decided to check my GPS to see what was kicking around nearby.

Well hold the phone, it looks like we have a cache ridiculously nearby! I didn't even really need to use the GPS to get me to ground zero, since I figured there was about only one place that the cache could possibly be (in general, at least). However... office hours were still open, and several people were waiting for a bus nearby. I sauntered nearby, looking like I was equally waiting for the bus, but just... sitting a bit further away. After my initial pokings around proved fruitless, I began to scan just about everything I could from a crouched perspective. Nope... still nothing. During this time, my wife had decided that instead of joining me on my hunt, she was going to look around Dollarama for a bit. That's all fine and good.

Still finding nothing, I circled around the structure as a whole, but couldn't spot anything whatsoever that struck me as cache-like. I finally broke down and pulled out my palm pilot. A quick reading of the cache description later, and I realized where I had gone wrong. It still wasn't particularly easy to spot, and it took me a good few minutes before it caught my eye. Ahh... but the retrieval that other people have mentioned having issues with.

My primary concern wasn't the parking lot. Most people were inside the stores, or could be timed such that there should be virtually nobody looking at the specific time I would go after the cache. But the bus people... those several people waiting for the bus. One of them would be out of sight, but the other one was sitting in such a place that they would perfectly see anything that I was doing. Not wanting to draw attention to myself, I decided to wait them out, and wait for the bus to come and go.

Unfortunately, at this time that I was waiting for the bus, my wife emerged from Dollarama and headed over to me. I told her of the plight, and... I'm still not entirely sure why... but she got mad for some reason, and said I should just get it, not care who's looking, and not care if it's stolen later.

Well, that spontaneous outburst basically killed it for me . At this point, I knew I wouldn't be able to cache any more and just said 'screw it' and went back to the car. There's no way in hell I'll ever risk a cache being stolen by being idiotically blatant about getting it, and for some reason this fact apparently makes ME the irrational one. So... I abandoned the effort immediately. We talked a bit later, and I still think she was being irrational at best... but whatever. I shall return another day, preferably when the stores are closed, and most certainly alone. I'm thinking since it (as far as I last checked) has stupidly short hours on weekdays, I'll tackle this one after work some day during the week.
