I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was another cache dwelling quite close to home . I believe someone mentioned to me at one point or another that a cache would be springing up near one of my own, and I'm quite glad that it appeared when it did.

I was visiting my parents place today, and had planned to swing by my cache 'Early Maridia' to replace the logbook (now accomplished). My niece Cailyn (who's travelled with me on several other geocaching adventures... mostly in the city/town/whatever-that-is of Carman, MB) was also visiting, and asked if we were going geocaching, since I had brought my geocaching kit with me.

Now, I had originally just brought that to have something to carry the spare logbook, my camera, etc, etc with me. Turning on the GPS, I find a cache only about one kilometer from Early Maridia!

"Ebullient exuberations", I exclaimed!

Well... not in those EXACT words. Perhaps closer to "Sweet!", but it's close enough .

Many exclamations of ebullient exuberations later (mental note... use that phrase in a conversation with someone later and see what happens), my niece and I headed out. A quick drive later, we discovered that our car wouldn't have been easily capable of taking our original route... following the Seine River Diversion's road/path thing beside it. Hence, I opted to take the paved method. Pfft... if I had my older car, I would have blasted that sucker through the ridiculously overgrown path beside the Diversion . But alas... not wanting to cover the bottom half of my car with grass stains had me think otherwise.

We soon arrived at the coordinates (or close enough thereto). We had to walk across the bridge, and quickly saw that there could have been dozens of places to hide a cache. Our initial check left us empty-handed, so after a bit more circling around, I spotted the cache container . Typically, if my niece is with me, I'll allow her to attmept to locate the cache and grab it before I do anything. However, as she couldn't spot the cache nor easily grasp it when I pointed it out, I made the snag. One signed logbook and a micromail ball later, and the cache was back in its place. I believe Cailyn took one of those mini-eraser things in there, but didn't see if she left anything. If not, I apologize. I've been attempting to teach her caching etiquette, but some things still haven't quite sunk in yet.

In either case... thanks for the fun cache close to my old stomping-grounds .
