Random quick bits of stitchery

A tweezers case made from a red nylon strap.
Tweezers case - July 5, 2026

A fun little half-hour build when the sudden need appeared. Sitting inside my geocaching bag, the pointy nature of the tweezers decided to poke through the side of the inner bag in there, and that just couldn't stand. So, immediately deciding it needed a case, I thought a nylon strap would work well for the job, quickly found some scraps, and, before stitching the sides together, sewed a small fold of rigid plastic into the bottom of the pouch, then proceeded to stitch the sides together. Going all the way up one side, and leaving a centimeter free on the other to make it easy to pull out the tweezers, this was a quickly finished project! Definitely not enough for a full page on its own, but it can serve as the starting point of sewings miscellaneous page. A one and done project!
A thin red pouch, created from a strip of nylon, with one side not sewn together for the top centimeter to allow the tweezers inside to be removed easily.
Taking in Medusa - October 9, 2026

I debated whether to add this since it's pretty everyday kinda. But y'know, maybe it'll give people the idea to do it on their own, it's pretty easy. Thank you mom for the original sewing skills, and to Like That for showing me how to narrow a shirt. So say you buy a shirt and it's too big, as was the case here. If it's got seams down the side, you basically just chalk a line starting at the armpit (no modifying from the shoulders up here, sorry, that's way above my pay grade), and angle that to a centimeter or inch or whatever you need all the way down. So I moved the side seam about an inch in, taking about 2 inches off both sides, and... yus. Am happy. I mean, it cOoOoOuld be a bit narrower, but I don't know if that'll start looking unusual, with the shoulders at this width. All in all, for smaller changes, this works, and it worked ^_^
