Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Blank, single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

Final cache of the day! With the humidity, it was high +30's or low +40's out today, and I was still geocaching! At least at the time I went after this one, it was down to +36 ToungeOut. But this cache, along with 'the eternal flame' a little to the south, I've been wanting to go after for ages! Since last year, actually. Shortly after starting geocaching, I had wanted to attempt these two geocaches, but it turned out to be too muddy, so I put it off.

But no longer! Today was the day when I planned to tackle this once and for all! After spending the day with relatives, I needed some geocaching to at least get SOME productivity out of the day ToungeOut.

At first, I was very, VERY tempted to just run from 'the eternal flame' directly to this one (despite it being about a 1.2km hike alongside the railroad tracks in +36 degree weather). However... logic prevailed, and I held off on deciding until returning to the car and discovering that THIS cache was actually quite close to a road! Boy, would I have felt stupid if I had gone after the cache, only to find that after sweating like mad and running for a mile that I could have driven right to it ToungeOut.

But AFTER said drive, and arriving at said cache location... I was treated to a ton of cut grass so deep I could have built a fort in it.

And don't think I'm being sarcastic... I've done this as a kid growing up in the country. How we didn't die of blood loss playing in the cutgrass, I'll never know ToungeOut.

But... fun grass-romping aside, I quickly found the cache. And a vole... but he took off when I came near ToungeOut. I've gotta say though... that's probably one of the sturdiest cache containers I've come across in a while. A little interesting to try to get items into or out of it, but I managed to get everything out and check out the contents. At which point, I found a geocoin not previously logged into the cache! I'll just make things easy and 'grab' it from the person who forgot to drop it, re-drop it into THIS cache for the miles, and migrate it on shortly Smile.

But nonetheless... finally got to go after the cache that's been on my mind for about 8 months now. Thanks for the adventure down gravel roads (I grew up on a gravel road... brings back memories Smile), and a good end to a hot, hot, good day BigSmile.

Took: Geocoin
