This cache is hidden near an old Trappiste Monastery which was destroyed by fire in 1983. This area is now known as The Ruins at the St. Norbert Arts Centre. This was Manitoba's first letterbox cache. The idea of a letterbox cache is to collect stamp impressions from the various caches. It contains a stamp and a log book. Use your stamp (if you have one) to sign the log book, and use the stamp in the cache to mark your book to keep as a souvenir of this cache. HURRAH! My first Letterbox Hybrid type cache! Gotta say... the stamp I was expecting in there wasn't... what I was expecting. Then again... I had no clue what I was expecting. I was thinking like... a 1cm square stamp... not like... inch and a half. Well... learn something new every day.
Nice and quiet there today. Wasn't really any people around to get in the way either. Well, there was one couple who appeared to be taking some pictures in a semi-professional looking way. Some photographer was taking pics of them with the forest in the background. Of course, I had to cross behind them to get to the cache. Luckly, they were just finishing up as I got close. Dang... no ruining pictures for me . Pretty easy to find this one. Not really too many places it could have been at those coordinates. Still a nice area around here. I've got to adventure around here more sometime.
