I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to go after this cache today. After my last caching of the area, in which I found the nearby 'Clock With No Hands' cache, I had been too tired to want to go this far out of the way. Was a little annoyed at myself at the time, but knew I'd be coming back around the area in no time. Well, 'no time' turns out to have been equal to 7 days. My wife and I had been called out to her parents' place once again, so I decided to again go with the theory of bike there after work, and then find a cache or two on the way home. After finishing our business with the in-laws, my wife and I decided to walk to the library/community center (about 1 or so km's away as the crow flies... bit more down the sidewalks). After a nice, leisurely walk down a surprisingly nice evening, we eventually made it to the library.

At this point, since my wife had also walked the 6 someodd kilometers from our apartment to the in-laws, decided to wait for me near the library, while I went off to find the cache. This worked out well, since I had my bike with me, and she was on foot. Since it was approximately 10:00pm, the light was rrrreeeally starting to dwindle. Given sunset is apparently at about 9:30pm, I was working with twilight (not the crap book series, the time of day). Off I headed down the grass behind the library towards the coordiantes. With it getting darker every minute, I quickly found my way past the ice-rinks (so much for my wife saying the lights would probably be on to light my way), and came across... trails? Huh... never been down these trails before. I'll have to make a mental note of the area and bike around down here when it's both brighter, drier, and I have more time ToungeOut.

Speaking of drier... yeah... today, it wasn't. As I left the gravel around the rinks, I slowly biked through a rather large puddle, attempting to not spray mud all over myself. At about 25 meters away, I noticed that the trail I was on was going in a different direction than the coordinates, so I headed down what looked like a faint trail of some sort into the bushes.

It wasn't.

Very quickly, I found myself in the middle of the bushes, with little light, and no sign of any kind of path whatsoever. I carefully maneuvered my bike around the trees, and attempted to generally whack as little bush as possible. I generally succeeded, and quickly found myself emerging back on the same path that I had left in the first place. Well... that'll teach me to try to take a shortcut.

Once I had arrived close to ground zero, I parked my bike against a tree and wandered over towards the coordinates. Given it's twilight, and I'm in the middle of some fairly dense bushes, the light I had to work with was minimal at best. I contemplated taking out my flashlight or head lamp, but figured I'd give it a quick go without. After my first spot of searching came up empty, my second one was dead-on. Although, with the light levels I could barely see the container, I still recognized it as non-natural, and stepped closer to the trail a bit to sign the logbook. As I went to grab a chainmail ball signature item, I realized I had a TB to drop, and so the "Valentine's Bug" travelbug is now resting in a nice foresty area. Replacing it as found, I was off to return to my waiting wife.

Thanks for placing the cache! It was a fun adventure, and I'll have to check out these trails sometime!

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry, Valentine's Bug TB, and chainmail ball
