You are looking for small Lock 'n Lock containers containing a clue in the logbook about Rudolph whereabouts. After a successful year of training and parades across the world the reindeer are now ready to make the trip around the world on December 24/25. Only there is a slight problem… Rudolph has disappeared! He was last seen during the Winnipeg Christmas Parade at the corner of Portage and Memorial, and nobody has seen him since then. Santa is quite nervous as Rudolph is the lead reindeer and in case of fog or other inclement weather, Rudolph becomes essential to the team. Now that Rudolph is gone, the whole Christmas gift distribution route may be in jeopardy! Which means that all the geocachers in the world hoping to receive a new GPS for Christmas may have to wait another year… Our last chance is to question the other reindeer in the hope to obtain a clue on the whereabouts of Rudolph. Each reindeer has a partial clue about the final coordinate of Rudolph. Let's see if someone can find Rudolph before Christmas. A nice reward will be offered to whoever finds it first. Good Luck!

Whew, been too long since I geocached last. I was specifically hoping to get out today and find me a geocache (anything not a micro), purely to drop a TB that I've had for about 3/4 of a month now. Turns out this cache already had a TB, which I swapped out for, but at least this one's fresh, and the old one can start moving again .

I had initially planned a full day of caching in all it's glory, but was in the meantime on a quest to do some shopping for specific items. Well, it turns out luck wasn't with me, and 90% of my time out was spent in stores instead of bushes or parks . But that has nothing to do with the cache in itself, so let's just move along.

When I was at around the corner of Kenaston and Bishop Grandin on the way home from the aformentioned shopping, I checked the GPS for any nearby caches that were winter-friendly. Since it was around 6:00pm, the light was starting to disappear pretty quickly, and I didn't really want to be digging around in a snowbank in the dark (since I've seen the results... ie: Allegra's Amazing Cache in January... from attempting that ), I just needed something quick and hopefully big enough to drop my TB into. I was however taking a bit of a chance with a "Small" sized geocache, since most Altoids-tin caches I've seen have been categorized as that size. I knew however that this was a fairly new cache, and have noticed in general that most new caches have tended to avoid the Altoids-tin (thank god).

So locking my GPS onto this cache, I headed onwards. A quick trip down Waverly and University Crescent, and I began to near the coordinates. MAN, did that little drive bring back memories. Back when I was in University, I had a parking spot in "L" lot for one year, pretty much because it was the parking lot that would be the closest to indoors. Hah, I scoffed at weather that year! But anyway, I became fairly familiar with that particular road in general. Nice to see that a geocache has been placed along it . And thankfully because it was the weekend, not only was parking not enforced, but it was dead-empty! Then again, I can't imagine the far back of the parking lot being the first place people go . Well, except a few people I remember back in the day, who had a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and took it to University *cough*richbastard*cough*. They parked THAT at the back of the lot, I guess to keep it from getting door-dings as easily. Bah, stupid rich kids.

But I digress. Where was I... right, yeah... parking. I found myself a mere 50 meters from the cache, which I reached quite quickly. The snow wasn't particularly soft, so I didn't sink in and get snow in my shoes, and not a single car went by to interrupt me . I ended up attempting to search the wrong place about 7 meters away, but quickly corrected that. When I reached the ACTUAL ground-zero, the cache location was quite apparent. The question is... is it big enough for the 'Gingy' TB that I had? Why yes... yes it is! That is of course, after removing the 'Bobby Isaac' TB that was in there. A quick signing of the logbook later, and I clamped it shut. I replaced it pretty much exactly where it was. Unfortunately, there wasn't any 'natural' camouflage I could place over it, and none was there when I arrived... so the cache container's own camouflage looks like it's doing all the work on this one. Perhaps in spring it would have been easier to hide better, what with the inch thick layer of ice not covering the ground .

But thanks for giving me a cache to swap out TB's, and getting me back into the caching game again. It's been about 20 days... far too long.
