Y'know, I didn't even KNOW this was a nano-cache, as the description so blatantly says. However, what I DID know was that it was as of currently the closest cache to where I live... and thus must be located .

Since I hadn't been biking in a while, I opted to haul the bike out to this cache. It looks like others have mentioned in their online logs that finding legal parking is a bit interesting at times, so it's probably for the best that I had the bike with me. For several reasons, actually... as you will soon come to find out.

So I headed off from home with naught but my bike, geocaching bag, a bottle of water, and my MP3 player. A few minutes of biking south, and I found myself at Bishop Grandin. Luckily, the lights were in my favour, so I didn't even have to wait for that one. After getting to the paved 'greenway' path, I made my way towards the coordinates. Shortly after passing that bench there, I came across two particularly cute girls walking by, quite obviously checking me out.

What? As my wife says... I may be married, but that doesn't mean that I'm dead .

But yeah, I've been told that when I'm in my biking gear (shorts, sleeveless shirt, etc), I'm apparently not that shabby to look at. *shrug* I'd have never thought so personally, but hey, who knows what girls are into these days. Anyway. when passing them, they called out to me, snagging my attention. Given I was listening to my mp3 player, I didn't catch what they said, so I hit the brakes and skidded to a stop. Evidently, they needed directions to St. Vital mall. Out-of-towners, I'm guessing. So I tell them they're walking in the right direction, and they ask how many miles it is.

Americans, evidently .

So I tell them "coincidentally, I have a GPS with me!" Scrolling over to where St. Vital mall would be, I tell them they have about 1.5 kilometers to go. Off they went, and I continued in the opposite direction to the cache!

Sorry... went off-topic a bit there, but what can I say... they were a memorable part of the cache .

Anyway, when I got to the coordinates, I surprisingly found the cache quite quickly. Probably within the first 20 seconds, anyway. I also discovered that the cache's hiding spot was being shared with a big ol' cricket. He just kinda moved to the side a bit while I made the find. I'm pretty familiar with this type of cache container though... my pet cat owns one too . A quick signing later, and a micromail ball found its way into the cache. Glad I had a number of 'em with me... ended up finding two nano-caches today!

Pretty ingenious hiding spot though. The 'camouflage' was a bit out of place, so that's probably what made it stand out. As I was replacing the cache, our big ol' friendly cricket decided he had enough activity with me shuffling the cache container around him for one day and split. I replaced the camouflage back in a bit better a position, so it blends into the wall more.

Thanks for the hunt. Not only did I get to find a clever nano, but I got to both check out, and be checked out by a couple of cute girls .
