Well, this area's definitely new to me. I've biked the paths to the North of... whatever bridge/road that is that leads towards Royalwood from St. Anne's. It looks like google maps doesn't think that area exists or some such ToungeOut.

Nonetheless... yeah, I've mainly biked North of that road, but have not yet had the opportunity to try going further South. This cache (as well as 'Oh Deer') gave me reason to send my bike down some more trails BigSmile. I likes me trailriding in the forest.

So after crossing under that bridge in question, I wandered back and forth a bit looking for there the trail began again. There clearly wasn't any well-packed trail like the one to the North... so it looks like I'm biking along either an animal trail, or a seldom-used bike trail. Probably a combination, since there were several spots where logs/boards were placed over mini-streams. It was a pretty fun ride for the most part. Still somewhat wet here and there from the rain we got last week, but workable. To try to avoid getting TOO muddy, I tried to swerve onto the grass whenever I came across a mud puddle. Which was often ToungeOut.

And then the trail started to get less... travelled. On multiple occasions, I wasn't able to stay seated on the bike to get around corners/under logs/etc. I could see this as being an interesting hiking path, but it needs a bit more work to make it comfortable for biking ToungeOut. Then again, the city needs some nice un-paved, low-travelled paths to make things interesting. I think this path may well fit that bill. So if you're looking for a REALLY interesting trail-riding bike trip... consider going after this cache if you haven't already.

Or failing that, there's a clear, marked, well-paved trail about 40 feet away or something, and I'm taking the little dirt path along the edge of the river... I have no clue, but my luck seems to run that way fairly often ToungeOut. To top it off, I ended up going TOO far down said dirt trail, found myself under 100 meters from the cache, which ended up being on the opposite side of a bend in the river. At this point, I'm CERTAIN that what path I was on was made only by animals. I had to hop across a stream, duck under low-hanging branches, and only ended up getting farther from the cache that I had been 10 minutes earlier ToungeOut.

But hey, at least I was on the right side of the river. My main worry was that it'd end up being on the other side, and I'd have to go all the way back and then re-trace another path on the other side. At one point I actually DID think it was on the other side of the river, so when I was working my way back, I took a minor detour, and next time I looked at the GPS I was 15 meters away from the cache coordinates ToungeOut. Parking the bike against a tree, I hoofed it around looking for the cache. I ended up circling it before spotting it from the opposite side. I had even LOOKED at exactly where it was when I first arrived and thought "nah, wouldn't be there... doesn't look big enough to hide a 'regular size' cache in". Turns out it was just well camouflaged into there ToungeOut.

After finding the cache, I kicked back in the shade and logged my find in the book. Nothing else particularly caught my attention in there, but since it was an awesome adventure through the forest to get to here, I lobbed in a special titanium chainmail ball. But was this the end of the adventure? Oooooh no... this was only the beginning! After all, there was ANOTHER MBeans cache nearby, that involved MORE dirt-path-following! So after re-hiding the cache, I headed back down the path I went down before (when I went too far) on my way to the next. On to 'Oh Deer!' BigSmile.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and limited edition titanium chainmail ball
