Third and last of the day for me. Was going to find another before this one, but mass amounts of construction hindered things. I've been eyeing THIS cache for quite some time though. There's been many a time that I've gone near the area (namely, on the Perimeter), but when I have been, I've never had the time (or had passengers who care not for geocaching, and wouldn't let me stop... bah) or GPS to go after it.

Today after work however would be different! Having both geocaching bag with me (now upgraded to bag level 1.8!) and the time in which to geocache, I headed here after finding a few geocaches on the way. At first I was a bit worried that there would be excessive traffic making me nervous due to a B.C. Fruit stand at the beginning of the gravel road, but that worry turns out to have been for naught. Only a single vehicle passed by, and they neither slowed down nor seemed to notice me.

Quite an awesome hide however. Unfortunately, my GPS was playing the game of 'bounce around and not actually center on anywhere', so I ended up circling around here and there amidst my searching. I ended up barely looking at the GPS through most of the hunt... mainly only to make sure I wasn't like... 20 meters away or something now and then. When I had driven up, I thought for sure that the cache would be hidden inside the foresty area, but when I got close, this clearly wasn't the case. Walking across a pseudo-ditch (which was thankfully mostly dry), I headed towards that caged area. Seeing it locked tight, I wrote off thinking it may be inside. I however checked everything on and around said fency area without finding a thing though. The coordinates bounced me around a lot as well as I said, so I did a lot of wandering back and forth to see if a sudden burst of insight would hit me and lead me to the cache. No such luck .

Pulling out my GPS, I checked out the cache description. Unfortunately, it didn't really tell me anything I hadn't already surmised. Checking the past 4 logs (the limit of Cachemate), that as well turned up little. After a bit of wandering around, I finally got that moment of insight. However, I almost thought that it was a false hope. Upon following through with the insightful thought, I turned up empty. Reattempting a similar technique nearby, I quickly found the cache !

Excellent hide! Over time I had wondered if a technique such as this would be a viable cache spot... and you've pulled it off beautifully. Although, you may want to do a little bit of maintenance on the cache container itself sometime. The spongy seal meant to keep it dry is quite loose on one side, and though I placed it back as best I could, it can easily fall out. I'd probably suggest sealing the 'open' portions of the container with some really strong, rubbery glue (I'd recommend GOOP brand from Home Depot or wherever), and maybe sandwich a fitted piece of plastic over it, just from any kind of product packaging or anything. That'll pretty much permanantly keep any potential problems at bay (whew, lotsa P's in there).

Otherwise, it was an excellent hunt. Glad to have been the first to find it in several months. It's no surprise others have been unable to locate it here and there... it IS quite the clever hide as has been mentioned by others .
