A cammoed Peanut Butter Container

I have been wanting to do a TB hotel for awhile now. Finally I had a container for it, and the TB's to stock it. I looked for a good location. This is located on the South perimiter Highway with great access for those travelling either direction. I hope everyone enjoys it. Cache contains a few tradeable items, log book, pencil, and a FTF certificate.

This area seems rather familiar. And in all actuality, I'm surprised there's not a lot more geocaches in and around this area. Perhaps the surrounding areas just past the trees aren't suitable however, I'm not all that familiar with the area. In either case, this having been my third cache on this little stretch of road, I was already somewhat familiar with the parking and soforth. And of course, the distinct lack of vehicles passing immediately beside you (well, unless you count St. Mary's road). So, with the immediate vicinity completely devoid of people, I was able to hop out of my car and head over to the cache.

And as an added bonus, the vast number of trees packed just to the South of this road made for an excellent little windbreak! With winds today gusting above 60km/h, it was almost hazardous getting out of the car for the last cache I went after ToungeOut. So with virtually no wind in my way, I was able to easily wander over towards the cache container. Well... mildly easily, anyway. Given I was wearing my work shoes, I wasn't particularly in the mood to get them soaked with the ample rain water around. I eventually picked my way through the grass, finding a dry enough method of reaching the tree line. Once I hit the trees, it was high and dry from that point on BigSmile. Given swylie's log below, I'm thinking I must have showed up a bit after them, since it didn't appear to be nearly wet enough when I arrived to warrant thinking about knee-high rubber boots. Probably for the best, since I'd have had to bail on the cache if it did!

So continuing onwards, it didn't take me long to spot the cache container. I made my way through the branches over to it, and instantly noticed that there was a significantly easier way of accessing the cache ToungeOut. Ain't it always that way though. So after looking through the cache container, I signed up the logbook and tossed in a chainmail ball.

Very bizarre though. The page lists there to be 9 travelbugs located in here... yet I only found a single one located inside the cache container (which I snagged to move it along... sorry, didn't have any TB's to drop off). I have no clue where the other 8 might have disappeared to, but given previous logs on this page, I imagine they've been astray for a while. In fact... *checks*... with the exception of a single geocoin (which for all I know is still there, but I just didn't spot... doubt it though), all of the other TB's appear to have been dropped off here from late, late May to mid-June. Hopefully they'll all turn up sometime. At the bare minimum, the Handy Wrench TB is being moved along as soon as I can. It's apparently bound for BC, which I'm not going to be visiting anytime soon unfortunately, but I'll unleash it somewhere soon. Perhaps with a note on it indicating it's desired destination, so that cachers can decide if they're best to pick it up or not.

But I'm getting off topic here. The cache! Closing up the cache, I followed the significantly easier method of leaving ground zero, and worked my way back to the car, keeping my feet dry as a bone. Mission successful! I always like the foresty type caches. Almost moreso when they're in and around the city, showing us that there's still some wilder plantlife locations amidst the city Smile.
