A: Jessika.

A: I'd prefer not to answer that.
Q: You're a girl?!
A: Yes, get over it.
Q: I swear, I've seen your screen name before, are you the same person?
A: It depends, I'm on several other boards as Lady Icy.
- I'm on a board called Temple of Segasuas (It's a Role Play board) and am also a Moderator there.
- I'm a Moderator on Vonritcher's "MSR388" project message Board.
- I'm on Project Jenova's message board under the name "Dark Samus".
- I'm also on the Metroid Database under the name "The Dark Hunter".
Q: Where do you live?
A: Lower penninsula of Michigan.
Q: Are you married to Hiroshi?
A: No.
Q: What time do you update?
A: Whenever I want to?
Q: Where'd you get your sprites?
A: Most I made myself, but the Base(original) sprites of Kraid, Samus, and Ridley I got from Kabutroid.
Q: Can I use your sprites in my comic?
A: Go nuts with Samus, Kraid, and Ridley, but my custom characters are mine, and mine alone.
Q: What if I ask really nice?
A: If you really must use one of my sprites, E-Mail me about it and we'll discuss it, but if I do say no, no means no.
Q: Can I post your sprites or comics somewhere else?
A: Simply put? No.
Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Mostly by listening to music.
Q: When did this comic start?
A: Well, the ORIGINAL comic started on Mar 23, 2004. This new version, however, started on August 10, 2005.
Q: What's this original comic you speak of?
A: ...I'm not proud to say I made it, but it was called Rio Mania, and it hit exactly 400 comics before stopping. It was posted on a message board I used to frequent, but I took it down when said board went downhill.
Q: How could you have made 400 comics in a year?
A: I was feeding my stress from School into my artistic outlet. That and they were the worst quality. I would.. at times, put out 10+ comics in one day.
Q: Freak.
A: Yes well when you're 15-16 you have nothing else to do.
Q: Is Shades of Defiance just a remake of Rio Mania?
A: Some of the same ideas, but Shades of Defiance is FAR from a remake of that horrid old comic..
Q: Is Icy an Author character?
A: Nope, there is no such thing as Author Characters in my comic.
Q: Okay.. Is Icy a Fearow?
A: That's true and false at the exact same time. The old Rio Mania Icy used to be a Fearow, yes... but the Shades of Defiance Icy is not a Fearow, just similar in style to a Fearow on purpose.
Icy, like a few of my other characters, was not created for the sole purpose of a new comic character. She was created when I was a child from drawings and doodles. You should almost say Fearows are based on Icy, because I created her long before I ever played/heard of/seen Pokemon.
Q: Why use 8-bit? Why not something infinitely better li-...
A: Yeah, stop there. This is a comic based slightly on the Original Metroid, so it will stay 8-bit just like the original metroid, with the occasional drawn comic, and animated comic thrown in.
Q: The number of panels per comic keeps switching around!
A: Yes, I can say I often switch around between anywhere from four panels all the way to sixteen panels.
Q: You're comics aren't funny like Kabutr..
A: OKAY, JUST STOP THERE. My comics ARE NOT Kabutroid's, they are not Hiroshi's, they are most of the time.. not funny. This comic is focused on plot more than focused on being funny. You want funny? Go read Kabutroid's comics.
Q: Does this comic take place in an Emulator of Metroid like Hiroshi's and Kabutroids?
A: No, actually. This is more like watching an Alternate Dimension's version of the Metroid Timeline fold out.
Q: You claim your comic isn't the same as Kabutroids, but there are so many similarities.
A: The only similarities are as follows.
- Kraid remembers tons of names and likes bricks.
- Theirs a bar, which looks the same but slightly different.
- Ridley has his own room.
Q: You say that there are differences, what are they?
A: The differences.
- Planet Zebeth takes place on an Emulator, Shades of Defiance takes place in "real life".
- PZ takes place on Zebeth, SoD takes place on Zebes.
- Kraid isn't some perverse sicko who talks about nothing but pogs.
- There is no "Author Character", because it's not a "comic".
Q: Whaddya mean it's not a comic?!
A: It is a comic, but at the same time it's more like watching a TV show.
