Small camo'd tin hidden just out of sight. It should be pretty obvious where to look.

This cache is part of a series promoting Girl's skateboarding in Winnipeg, in honour of TechDeckPerson. Skate camps and other supports exist in Manitoba for young boys, but so far not enough girls have been identified to warrant much activity aimed toward them. That said, an US based group SkateLikeAGirl and the Manitoba Skateboarding Coalition held a girls only event called "Chicks Flip Out" in July a few years back, attracting skaters in their teens and 20s from around the world. So get out there and get your skate on... it's not just for the boys. Sadly, sponsors have pulled out so there has been no even since 2009. This year, with a change in management at SK8 (at the Forks) the annual summer camp included girls groups.

From WinnipegSkateboarding.Com:

Sargent Park features a few 4sets (long and low), a few boxes and 2 rails. Its got a snakerun/bowl thing, not that great but its there. There's a strange angled skate piece and a pyramid with an extension on top.

It was a beautiful day out to go for a bike ride. I was completely unaware that this skate park was this close to home. Kinda convenient, since I enjoy taking my bike into the halfpipes and such at the Forks. This one's not quite as elaborate, but definitely still fun to tool my bike around in. Did a few circles here and there, got a bit of a feel of the ramps. It started picking up a bit with more people, and my chain was making an annoying 'clicking' sound (I've gotta fiddle with the screws in the gearing to see if I can tweak that a bit yet), so I figured I'd take off for the day. Got a few quick lines in, and generally took a good look at it.

Off I went, slowly sauntering my bike over towards ground zero. As the description says, it was pretty obvious where to look, so it didn't take me too long to locate it.

Oh and hey, on a random note, for being cache 800, this particular one kinda works out for me, since I came out as transgender not too terribly long ago. Still working through the occasional anxiety about going out as Tannis these days, but... slowly. These things take time. And surely some better weather can't help but get me outdoors more. So yeah, 'Sk8 Like a Girl', 'Byke Like a Girl', close enough ToungeOut. Doubt I'll do much railsliding on a mountain bike, but the rest of the park looks like it'd be pretty fun to take a quick few loops around on any time I happen to be going past Smile.

Otherwise, a quick signing of the logbook and insertion of a signature item, and I popped the geocache back from whence it came. Couldn't come anywhere even remotely close to fitting the remaining few travelbugs I have yet to drop off, but they came along for the ride, and to got log a few... meters, anyway ToungeOut. Shook the dust off, if nothing else.

Thanks for the cache though! Showed me a new park, got me some exercise, hopefully be a place I come back to periodically, and hey, cache 800, that's a number BigSmile.
