Well, this was quite the entertaining evening. And I gotta say, I’m really beginning to enjoy it when these events are in the middle of the week. For the most part, it seems like every weekend from now until eternity is booked up with... something or another. But the rest of the week? Dead empty. Well, aside from work of course, but these events are always after that.

Since I’ve been both meaning to make it out to more geocaching events, and at the same time was particularly wanting to get my hands on that 11-11-11 multi-event geocoin (which I actually forgot about AT the 11-11-11 event), I had extra incentive to head over. Somewhat in the same vein as me, Widget has also been meaning to make it out to more events, but lacked a ride. Since I was planning to head to the event right after work, I figured I could swing a little bit wide to pick her up on the way over. Thus, after one long work day, I meandered my way over to Widget’s place whereas I found a geocache I quite likely may not have otherwise found on my own, and then we hopped into the car and proceeded to somehow find our way over here (while at the same time driving routes I can safely say I’ve never been down before).

Parking was a bit... interesting. One side was completely full, so we soon found parking on the strip-mall side, and then attempted to figure out which entrance to use. A few moments later, and we found the geocaching event hiding inside.

Speaking of which: What happened to the geocaching banner? I was looking around for that since it seems to dwell at most geocaching events, but the lack of it kinda threw me off, and I wasn’t sure if that ‘private party’ was for geocachers.

In either case, when there I had a blast. I started out being my usual shy self, generally keeping to myself in the booth me and Widget parked ourselves at. As per usual for me, I pulled out my Rubik’s Cube and solving it. This caught the attention of TSK and wife (I apologize, I’m terrible with names... I just have the contact info paper TSK gave me), and we had a good chat about that amongst other things in general for quite a while. It’s quite rare to stumble across someone also interested in Rubik’s Cubes, so that was a particularly interesting conversation for me (with the music at a restaurant/bar an acceptable volume for once! The music didn’t overpower any of the conversations at all!) Some time we will have to head out caching together. I tend to geocache very sporadically though, but we’ll see how it goes.

They eventually left, and I chatted it up with several others... again, I apologize for not remembering the names. I’m good at remembering faces, that’s about it ToungeOut. In either case, much more general chatting about geocaches (I still loved ‘The Cliffs’ by the way BigSmile) and otherwise the conversation wandered from seemingly random place to seemingly random place. For the most part, it was awesome to just chat it up with people over some tasty food.

Widget of course was able to float around from table to table the entire night, conversing with pretty much anyone and everyone. Yeah... I still don’t see me being able to do that too easily. It’s just not in my nature. Just like I’m mildly glad that it wasn’t a karaoke night, because I’m sure you would have attempted to pull me on stage to sing Shock. As interesting as it would have been to see you and others sing, the risk was too great ToungeOut.

But anyway, all that said and done, by the time it started to get vaguely close to 11:00pm, we decided to head out. A quick side-trip to Widget drop off something she borrowed from a friend, and I swung back around to her place to drop her off before heading home. All in all, awesome evening Smile

Took: 11-11-11 geocoin and Widget
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball (with Widget ToungeOut)
