Found it 26/06/2014 By Kabutroid
I've been holding some travelbugs for WAY too long, and I think it's about time I got them moving again. I kinda stepped out of geocaching for a short while there, but as with all of my hobbies, will always have it lingering in the background, ready to burst forward as needed... and today was no exception.

I had to head back out to Landmark today to get transcripts from high school, and decided it would be a good time to tackle any geocaches that had appeared in the area. Or at least tackle as many as I could... my timeline was somewhat restricted today. The goal was to drive in in the early morning, get to Landmark Collegiate for 8:00am when they opened, get my stuff, find whatever geocaches I could, and then make it back to my workplace in the city for 9:00am... about a 40 minute drive. 20 minutes? Bah, you can do a lot in 20 minutes ToungeOut.

So one fairly uneventful drive out to Landmark later, I found myself running a bit late, but thanks to having overestimated my drive time to begin with, arrived at the school at almost exactly 8. And on a related note, how is it that they still haven't paved that road?!? That was a terrible pothole-filled misery to drive through when I graduated in '97, and if anything the potholes have gotten worse. Seriously Landmark... just spring for at least dumping a layer of asphault on top of the gravel... SOMETHING. If nowhere else, than at least that intersection that makes up the exit of the parking lot to the main highway. PLEASE, I'm sure every single person with a motorized vehicle would thank you. Hell, ask them and they might chip in a few dollars if needed.

But I digress. Bumpily leaving the school, I decided to hit this geocache first, since it at least had a size that might be able to hold a TB (and a geocoin or two as it were). Parking along the edge of the road, I hoofed it through the long grass, a bit worried that I was wearing my work shoes to a cache that specifically said to wear rubber boots if it had rained recently... which it had. Thankfully however, I was able to hop over any water I came across, or otherwise carefully manoever my way around such that I avoided soaking my feet. Following the instructions, I came across something that didn't quite seem right... and was quickly treated to the geocache hiding spot BigSmile. Opening it up, I did a quick skim of the contents (didn't see any of the other TB's that have supposidly been in here since 2010, unsurprisingly), and dropped in the two travelbugs and a geocoin. I figured... eh, it's been just kicking around the apartment here, it's about time for it to go on an adventure.

The geocache having been found, I quickly closed it up and worked my way back to the car. 10 steps later, I realized that I didn't drop in my signature item, and quickly worked my way back through the damp grass to drop a chainmail ball in and replace it all as found once again. The mission NOW finally accomplished, I headed back to the car and checked my timeline. Aaaand at this point it was getting pretty close to 8:30, and figured this would be the only cache I would be hitting before work today. It worked out however, as I was finally able to move along some TB's, get some fun geocaching in for the day, and get to drive around Landmark a little bit and see what's changed over the years.

Evidently very little ToungeOut.

Thanks for the cache though. Hopefully I'll be getting into it a bit more often, but one way or the other, I'll always be kicking around this hobby somewhere or another Smile.
