Bit of a peculiar case with this cache... I almost didn't get a chance to go after it this long weekend, and at the same time ended up biking within 10 meters of it during a different outing ToungeOut . To make a long backstory short, the first time I had been to this park ever was this Saturday, a scant few days ago. Since that first visit, I've now been to this park every day since, up until and including today, snagging the geocaches within. All in all, I've got to say it's a really fun park to cruise around in with your bike. And despite the fact that I've been here 3 consecutive days, I've still only adventured over the very South portion of park. I'll definitely have to come back to bike around the North half as well.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Back on Saturday night, I thought that there was only one puzzle cache in Kilcona park, and thus I solved it and intended to go find it on Sunday. Well, when I returned home Sunday afternoon and began logging my finds, I discovered that there was ANOTHER question-mark symbol on the geocaching google map. Mildly irritated with myself for not having solved all the puzzle caches before going in again (and even moreso once I solved this one and discovered that I had biked right beside the final coordinates on Sunday), I quickly set about solving the puzzle. At first it confused me, since I thought I had it figured out pretty much immediately after looking at it. But when I did what was needed to solve it, it just... didn't seem to make sense. After playing around with it for a few minutes, I returned to the cache page to check out the description and previous logs and whatnot. Nothing there helped at all, so I returned to the puzzle where I suddenly had a breakthrough. Everything clicked into placed, and after one minor correction, I was certain that I had the coordinates at hand BigSmile . Popping them into the GPS, I had planned at the bare minimum a quick trip out to Kilcona park again today to clear this one up.

So with the solution in hand and today lacking rain, I headed out to the park! Quickly finding parking (and nearly locking the keys in the car, but avoided that problem by absolute blind chance of the keys somehow getting caught on my geocaching bag), I headed out towards the coordinates. And man, the sun was certainly not playing nicely today. The forecast (as much as you can trust it, but if you look within a 2 hour window of the current time, it's usually at least somewhat close) indicates that it feels like +35 out... and I certainly don't disagree with this ToungeOut . Feeling the sweat drip off of me, I must have drained half of my camelbak of water by the time I reached ground zero. When I arrived, I had to wait a little bit for a couple and their dog to leave the trail on the hill, since they were directly in line with looking at me. Their dog came down to the water and started barking, assumingly having seen me, until the owners called it back. The coast now clear, I began the hunt!

It took a good several minutes for me to locate the cache, and I really only located it due to... umm... uneven placement, shall we say. Really awesome camouflage though BigSmile . Although, it looks like some ants have decided to take refuge inside the camouflage as well... I kinda had to watch it when getting at the cache container. After signing the logbook and dropping in a micromail ball, I attempted to replace the cache as evenly as possible, but the best it was going to get was exactly how I found it. All in all though, a really nice hide, and I REALLY like sitting in that area between the three spruce trees. Nice and cool in the shade, and a pretty relaxing view to just lie back and let time go by.

Thanks for putting a cache out here... I never would have found that spruce-tree-patch otherwise, and I've definitely got to come back to relax in there again sometime BigSmile .
