That was quite possibly one of the most fun geocaching events I've been to! Which clearly just means that I need to go to more of them ToungeOut. I got there fairly early, and parked myself for the evening. Not long after, people began pouring in, filling up our corner to the brim. I think at one point, we had the entire "long" table packed, and three surrounding ones claimed as well. I'm pretty sure I've met most of you, but I think there was a few new faces behind me from where I was sitting. Sorry I didn't get to chat... various things kept me busy at the table ToungeOut.

A bit of a funny part about going to this event... my wife was asking me why in the world I was wearing chainmail (she wasn't up for going out tonight) to the event. I told her "Every time I go to an event and DON'T have it, people are disappointed". I get the uncanny feeling that the same thing would have happened if I had been chainmail-less again. By far, the most popular chainmail item to be passed around was the dice-bag/artichoke/flower/acorn thing. It got a half-dozen pictures taken of it when Widget's camera went astray into the hands of other geocachers. Glacier_Ice... I'm looking in your direction when I say "I'm glad Widget was able to avoid having a picture down someone's shirt" ToungeOut.

Aside from a half-million pictures being taken, another highlight was... paper. For some reason (I'm pretty sure the only reason was 'because there's paper'), everyone at our table started making origami figures. I think it started out with a miniature paper airplane (which I STILL have to admit flew pretty damn good for being that small... some design I don't know how to make), and suddenly we had another 3 or 4 plane designs, Glacier_Ice's ninja-stars, my dragon-head, and Widget's swan and box, and ball. Unfortunately, Widget had showed me how to make the box, but I can't quite duplicate it. I've got it about 3/4 the way through, and it technically unfolds into a box-ish shape... but without the lid, and it doesn't stay together Frown. I shall have to look that up online or something. My current attempt has now transformed into an origami rock ToungeOut.

But... I digress (because THAT never happens). After a wide assortment of paper... things were made, the next natural thing to do is throw them around! At which point, we all discovered (and our drinks thank us) that none of us are basketball players. I'm pretty sure the only shot that was made was when GG slam-dunked the origami ball into her own wine ToungeOut. The various tales as well about how to make origami items dangerous (pencil tips and paperclips come to mind) were also somewhat interesting. I almost expect Glacier_Ice to one day make one of his ninja stars out of sheet-metal ToungeOut.

But yes... after much marvelous merriment, myself, Glacier_Ice, Sean, Widget, and Trag_Cachers went out after the nearby "Riverwalk ENTrance" cache, followed by me taking Sean and Widget (and freezing poor Sean's hands in the process) out to "The Forks" cache that they hadn't found yet. Congrats on not slipping Widget! You were saying you would so much, I almost think you were going to TRY to just to fulfill the prophecy you made ToungeOut.

But yes... much fun, and albeit I'm told the Guiness and fish&chips is good there, I can personally vouch for the chicken fingers and Moosehead beer being very tasty together BigSmile.

Took: A picture of myself with Widget's camera ToungeOut.
Left: Chainmail ball... and a nanomail ball for Sean and Widget. Gotta round out that collection again!
