1 Logs: Found it 1

Found it 23/04/2007 By Kabutroid
Well, I can honestly say that I didn't expect to find the cache today. Nor did I even think I would find out that it existed until Friday, when the weekly email on new local caches hit my inbox.

However... out of blind randomness, I decided to click on the "caches nearest to my home coordinates" link and see if that "Metro Nui" had been replaced or not.

But what's this? Why's it second on the list? I thought I got that Conquista a few days ago? Wha, did I forget to log... waaaaait a minute... new? Hello... we have a new geocache... currently listed as the closest unfound geocache to my home location (2.2 km). To boot... it's almost directly on the way that I need to travel today in an hour. Convenient BigSmile.

So... I pop the coordinates into my GPS, and prepare to head off shortly. I contemplated going out early and then killing time afterwards... but decided to spend the hour continuing to read a book I just got recently (Between a rock and a hard place, by Aron Ralson - excellent book BTW). When the time came, I headed out. A scant few minutes later, and I had parked at the nearby parking lot.

Excellent choice of hiding spot though BigSmile. Had me stumped for a little bit until I investigated it's hiding spot more closely. Although, I'm a tad worried about the container itself. The lid doesn't seem to have any kind of rubber ring on the inside, and doesn't seem to have a truly snug fit (unless I was putting it on wrong somehow... but since this is brand new, odds are it'll be found a dozen more times before the next rain, so if someone else can close it more securely, all the better).

But nonetheless... after finding the sweet hiding spot, I signed me up some logbook and put it back, and off I went. Until about a block down the street, I wasn't 100% sure if I had put a chainmail ball in. I quickly swung around again and stopped back at the cache. Yep... already one there. Well... looks like this fella got two visits out of me today technically (although I'll still only claim one find ToungeOut).

Thanks for the nice close-to-home cache Smile.

On a more annoying note though... I was meaning to drop the CITO geocoin that I picked up at the CITO event into the cache, but completely forgot to when I was on-site. Perhaps next cache I'll remember ToungeOut.

Took: Nothing
Left: Logbook entry and chainmail ball
