Both the hotplate as well as the coaster here will make the unknowning look at you in utter confusion. I've had people turning it about trying to find which way is up. Same with the coaster. However, once pointed out, the face, arm, and back of Kraid can be instantly recognizable.
Kraid, the "Brinstar" miniboss, shoots spikes from both his stomach (the lower coaster spike) and his back (the upper coaster spike). Hence, the coaster is his attack shots.
