Buttons!

Lots and lots of buttons

Just a whole big pile of buttons! Random buttons are all spread out in a cardboard box, oh man there's colours everywhere! Lots of reds and tans. There's this shiny black one bottom left, middle is kinda filled with cloth that it was cut out from. This other mostly black mostly with either a yellow iris, or I think there's a reflection in there. A big pink one is next to that, red one top-right. Lotta dark ones top half, some nice deep greenies over there. Reflection off of one. A bright blue one, oval. This one in the middle is like metal? Rustic bronze, with a heart in the middle, leafwork design above it. Another metal one bottom left, a big metal one bottom right from that, big ol' leaf on that one, maple style. Kinda darker red burgundy one bottom left, the back of that one, glimmer off of that one right there. A handful of them have little clumps of thread on them, which is kinda charming. Another red one middle right, a swampy green one kinda right up, near those deep greenies from a while ago.
Ooooohhhhh, you cannot imagine my surprise when I was wandering around this thrift store, just checkin' stuff out, lookin' here, there.... oh my goodness, there it was, just a big ol' plastic bag full of buttons. Five bucks(apologies for making it sound trite), no way grandma's old button collection for five bucks, get that over here. Clutching it to myself like a lady fearful of her purse, my eyes were wide. There could be 40 years worth of random buttons in here, from all varieties and places. Aw yea you know it's a full-size 3 meg image that just loaded, zoom in!

And this is more or less the official start to my button collection (I suppose as of now. Like, I've always wanted a button collection, kinda kept one or two of them around, ish, heck I think a random one is in my coin collection. Or was. If I see one on the ground I might keep it kinda thing, so that kinda counts as a collection, but the 'bulk' of it began here). Once I add my buttons from England (we're part-way through moving me right now), that'll full up the set. And yah, this page may be where I talk about whatever new button I pick up and such. Maybe a trinket if it's button-like. We'll see what I add to this, I pick up the random button about once a year. Oohhhh, a tale of the buttons, maybe that.

Officially started August 29, 2022, purchased somewhere in the summer

Ok, so this is kiiiiinda in-focus, so to speak. Like, trying to get a closeup image of a small object with a cellphone- anyways, people will be zooming in. Sorry, so anyways, it's a high-relief metal coin, bronze colour, got flourishing leaves coming off of a helmet above a heart, or a shield I guess, with a castle on it. Very heart-looking. The light is coming from the upper left, really makes that flourish pop. The heart in the middle, the buttonholes kinda in the middle there. Yeah, a pretty nice button A silver flower, another metal button, there's a few of these ones. Larger button, like inch across, of a fully open tulip, if I can guess correctly. The center part is all a bunch and the leaves spread outwards from there. It even has ridges along the petals themselves, lots of little dimples in there and oohh, it's kinda glistening in this photo here. Light's coming from the upper-left, got a lot of good reflections in this. A dark green kinda crickley button, all of these are on a tan backdrop too by the way, at this level of closeup. The light is playing over the bends and curves of the plastic around the crackling. It was kinda chosen for it's position in the photo here, there's a wider crack to the bottom left, kinda trying to encircle the middle buttonholes. Crickles off underneath, the bottom right is pretty good. Little tiny crickles all over the place, most of them connected. The middle is even misshapen a little bit, pretty shiny tho, so I don't think it's worn down. Long, bigger crickles run above and to the right of the center holes, but don't actually connect up there. Yeah, it's got a good gleam in this pic, just a really rustic old button. A lighter colour would have been nice, from a designer perspective, wouldn't have minded a pink crickley one, or an orange. But this one is good, just really deep cracks and stuff. Dark green, nice glimmer. Kindof a forest green, forest green with a hint more brown
A pile of assorted buttons in a doubled clear plastic bag, with a 4.99 price tag on it. It's sitting in Kab's hand, with a white backdrop
The buttons all spread out in a cardboard box, oh man there's colours everywhere! Top-left it looks like about a half dozen light brown, kinda pebbled, looks like it would be a nice texture. There's this shiny black one bottom left from there, middle is kinda filled with cloth that it was cut out from. Thread looks old fwiw. This other black mostly one with either a yellow iris, or I think there's a reflection in there. A big pink one is next to that, red one top-right. Lotta dark ones top half, some nice deep greenies over there. Reflection off of that one. A bright blue one there, oval. A handful of them have little clumps of thread on them, which is kinda charming smileyface. Got this coppery.... dazzling thing at the top, kinda iridescent surface. Another red one middle right, oohh, a... swampy green one kinda right up, near those deep greenies from a while ago. A penny is next to that. Heads. A lighter... kinda salmon pink one a bit below that, a... big dark-grey thing there oh woah, I was only zoomed in on one quarter. A quick summary, there's like three more of those big maple leaf ones. A pile of white ones are kinda in the bottom right, crenellated or ridged some. Nice caramel one there, OOHHH, this was a nice find. Oh my goodness if you are reading this I hope that you have your own collection of buttons, can I recommend getting a button collection like this, if you haven't one already? Like studying the picture, all of those have different ridges and stuff, just... thinkin' that'd be a good idea maybe, I dunno it looks pretty amazing. Picture here. Yah, anyways. Caramel one bottom right, kinda flat, maybe slightly concave. There's this pearl white one, shiny. Dark bronze one with a deep inner pocket, the little bumps in there. Anyways, I think that'd be amazing, and I'm glad I got to describe to you a healthy chunk of them. Have a beautiful day over there stranger, and have a good one
