This cache is located in Birds Hlll Park along the Cedar Bog Trail. No bushwacking is required. It is a short hike from the parking lot. When you get to ground zero, you will find something small but unique, which stands out in its surroundings. Kind of like Big T herself! There was only room for a micro here. It is a winter-friendly hide. Happy birthday T!

Man, but this cache was a nice change of pace from the previous find at #17 cache (and what would soon become the 10-times-as-difficult-as-that-next-cache). Having been at least partially down these trails during my last geocaching trip through Bird's Hill Park, I quickly made my way from the parking lot down the trail to the coordinates. Several minutes of biking later, and find number 12 of the day was within reach... for this cache would tie my previous single-day record of 12 finds back in October of 2006. Feeling the excitement of tying the 2.5-year-old record, I quickly dismounted my bike and began my search.

Well, not too quickly. Given that by this point, I had probably biked about 24km's or so throughout the park, my legs had gotten quite tired. By blind chance, I happened to have one of those energy-shot drink things in my backpack, and decided to finish it off at this point. The slight bit of energy that it gave me (I'm pretty sure it was well-diluted, since I had drank probably about 4 liters of water throughout the hot, sunny day ) kept me going, and I began the hunt.

Pretty much right from the get-go, I was searching in the correct area as a whole, but somehow still the cache eluded me. It actually ended up taking me a good several minutes of searching and circling before I came across anything. After some poking and prodding, I ended up just standing up and looking at the area as a whole. Sure enough, this method has saved me a number of times in the past, and it wasn't about to let me down this time either. Almost instantly, the cache container caught my eye. About 10 seconds after removing it from it's hiding spot, the timing seemed to have worked in my favour since a group of 5 bikers zipped past me as I was crouching next to my bike opening up the cache container. I had heard them coming when I had spotted the container, but they weren't in sight yet until I was seated at my bike.

Moments later, this cache got the first micromail ball of the day. Which probably works, since everything following it also got a micromail ball one way or the other... the past 11 caches had drained me of all of the regular-size chainmail balls I had brought with me . But hey... a chainmail ball is a chainmail ball, no matter the size.

Anyhoo... I signed up the logbook and replaced it back into the cache container. A quick glance around to see if anyone was nearby, and I returned the cache from whence it had come.

Thanks for giving me a relatively easy cache (by comparison) to work with in the par . The last cache soaked a lot of energy out of me, and the cache following this one drained me of whatever energy I had from that energy-drink, and then some .
