A long, hot bath is drawn. The water nearly stings your skin as it crawls up the surface while the tub fills. The white noise from the faucet clears your mind. After a period of relaxation, you desire the feel of water across your face. You take a deep breath, and turn your body, lowering your face beneath the surface. You plug your nose using as few muscles as possible, so as not to distract from your thinking. All that is, is yourself. Your eyes closed, your inner mind wanders, looking around your body from the inside. You feel the oxygen being pulled from your lungs, almost as though they're shrinking. Your mind can almost follow it, from the top of the lungs when you first submerge, down to the last thin layers of air being pulled into the lungs. There is nothing more there to pay attention to. Your focus is drawn to your throat, clicking as you swallow back the last gulp of air, your tongue now flattened against the surface of your mouth. As you travel through your body past the now inert lungs, you hear the rhythmic beat of your heart, as it slowly begins to grow in volume. You continue further down as your stomach gurgles, all audibly as clear as day. Your diaphragm begins to pull downwards, attempting to draw in more air. Several moments of quiet, as your body begins to react to the present. The diaphragm begins to pull downwards again, quickly followed by trashing upwards and downwards, attempting to alleviate the problem and obtain more oxygen. In the background, your heartbeat continues to increase in volume and speed. Your mind is drawn from the convulsing of your midsection, as the sound of your heartbeat fills your ears, always getting faster, louder. You turn your face upwards again. Blessed air. You take a sip of tea, and relax in your hot bath :) KatieLynne
